Very interested to see all your thoughts on T Menz, looks like both supporter groups are a fair way off what they think is a fair deal. I guess IF it did happen the deal would be somewhere in the middle of where we both think it should be, but likely closer to your favour as Troy would be out of contract.

A fair way down but 10 goals 1 from his last 11 says there is something to work with, especially a 21 year old tall with a sound body a big tank,if we don't want him he will be snapped up else where, your call keep him or let him go at the end of the year?
No one in their right mind will take him. why are Geelong supporters so deluded about the ability of our reserves players. Walker has one more year of a contract and then he will be playing in the local leagues.

That's putting the ball in his court, and it's not as if we've got a cupboard full of his like. Any others are lightweights or smaller, apart from Hawkins.
It would probably be to his advantage to go elsewhere like Podsiadly did last year, but we would be further compromised by our lack of tall options if so.
We just don't do well recruiting big guys, maybe it's the clubs pro midfield culture since Ablett Jnr days.
Would love him to succeed (as the grandson of the late, great Peter Walker, whose omission from our Team of the Century continues to be a festering travesty), but he has to find a position.
It's too late to teach him to be a genuine ruckman, and he's too short anyway.
He's clearly behind Hawkins, Vardy and Kersten as a big forward and/or KPF.
They need to start training him pretty quick if they want him to be a KPD, but the chasing of Frawley suggests that they don't see him or Hamling in that job, though they'll wait for Kolo.
It's obvious that the MC likes him, but they're not sure where he's going to fit, if anywhere, and they're just using him as a bit-part player in the meantime.
If and when he does get a job as someone's replacement, he'll need to slaughter it.

Heres an interesting thought given that our Rd1 is being discussed.
Would we rather see our Rd1 go to WC for Selwood or to Carlton as part of package for Tenzel.

Id almost rather see Selwood for the inside help rather than the excitement and skills of Tenzel.

Not that either are really likely but we only have 1 x Rd1 pick and these are 2 choices potentially ( albeit small) available to us…

R1 to inside Selwood or outside Menzel ? My assessment would be for the same payment ie our R1 and a player on the fringe etc...id go Menzel. I think we have more young inside talent on our list than mids with goal nous

Hay don't go blaming others it's only me and I'll be happy to take the all the credit if he makes it and fall on my sword if he can't at least find another AFL club.

I've got your back.;)
I think there's no doubt whatever that other clubs would find a spot for him as a 2nd or 3rd big forward.

One of our ex reserves could have back to back flags against his name at the end of this year.Who have thunk that.

Membrey 188/90kg, big mid type, if available might be worth a look, like Caddy.
I didn't watch any of the game last night so...

Did Membrey run through the midfield because he was drafted as a lead-up forward.

Good to see him adding another string to his bow if he is spending time in the midfield. How did he go?

Good point meto- we don't have a lot of players his size. He stays fit, too, which is more than we can say for some!
Hope something clicks soon with him. There's usually a lot of talk about "they take longer to develop, these big blokes" but I'm puzzled by how quickly people have written off this particular big bloke.

Is Selwood even up for grabs? I thought he re-signed last year?

TBH would rather sign a kid this year and then throw the kitchen sink at Danger next.

IIRC S.Selwood is a FA next year too, this could be wrong but I'm sure I read it somewhere.
God, imagine if we signed Frawley, Selwood and Dangerfield in the next 14 months, I know a certain club president that would likely explode.
Can't see them all fitting under our cap, but gee it's nice as a thought.

Grrrrrr!!!!!
And if he had been at the Cattery, he'd STILL be playing a lot of VFL, wouldn't he?
I could never quite understand the urgency of some BF posters to see Simpkin's papers stamped, just knew where the ball was going and racked possessions, the Hawks weren't deluded.
Vanilla now gets 30 possessions a game at times, not bad for a maligned player.

He started forward, didn't get a lot of possies but got right amongst it early and did some good things considering Fletcher was on him most of the night, bit of respect there..

Interesting that Membrey has popped up this late in the year.

We'll see if he holds his spot.

My guess is no but we'll wait and see how it plays out.

From memory he can play a bit.

And has a rubbish tatt. :D

Ch7 were oozing about this kid with good hands. I was expecting a Kertsen but he was really more like a strong bodied mid , and we know he could play forward.
