Here's how it stands at the end of the group stages:

QUARTER FINALS
Wed 18th SCG (about 35,000)
2. South Africa v 3. Sri Lanka

My pick - South Africa (to win their 1st knock out game in WC History)

Thurs 19th MCG
1.India vs 4. Bangladesh

This will have a brilliant atmosphere, but can't see India being challenged here.

Should get 70-80000

Fri 20th Adelaide Oval
2. AUSTRALIA v 3. Pakistan
(about 40000)

Aussies to win, will be closer than the media will make out. On their day Pakistan can beat anyone. Should be a big crowd at Adelaide, I'll be there and Im sure a lot of Pakistanis will be coming from interstate as well.

Sat 21st Wellington
1. New Zealand v 4. West Indies
(Sold out already - 34000)

McCallum v Gayle. If the Windies bat first and Gayle goes nuts who knows, the Kiwi's will win just depends which Windies team turns up to see how close it is.

It is interesting the Pakistani's will feel like they almost playing a home away from home considering they played about three games in Adelaide so far and do not even need to travel this week. So should be feeling as confident as they could of doing their best. I still feel it will be way short of Australia. They would really have to catch Australia on a really bad day to beat them. Too many weapons in Aussie line up for mine. Pakistan have a decent bowling line-up but still short of the power punch the Aussies got. Clearly the Pakistan batting power does not run as deep as the Aussies so people will talk this game up to make it sound close but I just expect Australia will come up with the goods when it counts. Would not surprise me if Pakis got 3 or 4 wickets in a hurry at some stage. Could happen but Australia have a lot of players in batting line-up that can do damage and only need 2 or 3 of them to fire and some serious damage can be done. Half expecting Warner to go nuts in this game.

Also, although West Indies are capable of an upset over Kiwi's the reality is the Gayle force rarely fires. I think his average is not much more than 20 so you putting in a lot of hope on him for the upset to happen and he is more than likely to go out quick than hang around long enough to really do damage he is capable of.

The most interesting quarter final will be Sri Lanka v South Africa. Should be a close contest. South Africa should win based on better bowling line up and having AB but Sri Lanka have a better overall team feel about them so have a real chance of winning.

Bangladesh could upset India but long odds. Shakib, Mushy and Mahmud guy need to do too much compared to India spread their share of talent more evenly across their batting order. I expect Bagladesh to put in plucky performance but in the end probably not enough.

Going to the India v Bangladesh game, just for the atmosphere, I don't care about the teams, but I went to the India v SA game and **** me it was a sheer wall of noise, don't think you can get that noise anywhere in the world, I urge neutral fans to go the game just for that.

New Zealand comfortably - Williamson, McCullum, Anderson, Ronchi, Taylor....not the most reliable or best line up but I'd back each one of those guys to do something over Gayle. New Zealand have far superior bowling bilities and depth compared to Zimbabwe...

Aus to win. Between Finch, Warner, Maxwell and Smith, one and I'm saying two will get away on the AO pitch. Smith to ton up. Match will be closer than NZ/WI.

India to beat Bangladesh. Pretty clearly a stronger team. Anything can happen but for the purpose of a prediction, can't go past India.

Going to go what is seemingly against the grain and pick South Africa to beat Sri Lanka. Batting first could decide it though.

u need to travel more

why, the atmosphere and noise at the India v Pakistan match at Adelaide Oval was brilliant. Compare that to the usual Australian cricket supporting bogan crowd its like chalk and cheese

Mitchell Johnson seems to think he is bowling well. Someone should tell him 4/166 from 23 overs against non-associates is not good. And even then his best bowling was 2/32 off of 8 against the other associate team in England.

Will the MCG be noisier with Bangladesh? Do Bangladeshis make noise? Will there be Indian vs Bangladeshi punch ons in the crowd? "Go back to Pakistan hur hur hur"?

There were no more than a thousand Bangladesh supporters at Adelaide Oval for the train wreck England game and they were very loud for the whole 8 hours.

Surely they will get around 10000 of their own but they will be dwarfed by about 50-60,000 Indians at the G

I wouldn't discount the West Indies just yet.. Holder and J.Taylor are in very good form. If they can blast out Guptill and McCullum early I don't think the Kiwi middle order is that good. R.Taylor, Elliot, Anderson and Ronchi is a very brittle lineup.
What I would go with if I was a selector for them:
Gayle, Charles, Darren Bravo, Carter, Samuels, Simmons, Ramdin, Russell, Sammy, Holder, J.Taylor

Bravo is out of World Cup mate. Has been for a few weeks now. He got replaced by another batter in their squad. Charles I believe.

Surely Adelaide Oval will be packed 50,000+ people.
Only problem is it's on a Friday but should be full. Can't really make any excuses, the tickets are I believe cheaper than the joke of a T20I played here early this season.

As for the results, NZ should beat the windies easily same with India over Bangladesh. Think Sri Lanka will beat South Africa, and Australia will get up in a tight one.

The AUS v PAK @ Adelaide Oval will be close to a sellout. Probably will get 43000 to 45000 (ICC Capacity is 47000 for CWC). Lots of tickets have been sold in the last 24 hours. I got my tickets 6 weeks ago and have been keeping an eye on it since then.

Before yesterday's game finished there wouldn't have been 20000 tickets sold, as there were plenty of level 1 and tickets were not even available to be sold in the top deck of Eastern stand until late last night.

After today's sales, probably a third of level 5 Eastern is sold and 3/4 of level 5 of Riverbank has been sold. All of the Hill and Western stand are sold out.

I'd says as of tonight between 32 and 35000 tickets sold.
