Pretty good time to be Mitch Robinson. Resurrected career, new home in the Queensland sun, club champion, another baby on the way, gorgeous wife, new contract extension on the way.

I really couldn't be happier for Robbo. He has embraced our club and is making Carlton look a goose.

On some level you can't really blame Carlton for letting him go at the same time. He had burned a lot of chances, and from what I hear, the city of Melbourne was just not a good scene for him.

Just so rapt to see him turn his life around though, and equally glad that we benefit from it. He really could have taken the glamour offer at Richmond, but I think he chose wisely, and bravely (for himself and his young family).

Well this thread has gotten out of hand. :O

Personally I don't see the harm in having a look at the voting system due to the fact Bundy was 2 points away from having 5 winners.

Though I wouldn't make any changes, see how it goes next year - this could very well be just an anomaly.

But in saying that, the blokes who won all deserved it for various reasons over the year and you can't take the award away from any of them because each of them could have won it outright and most on here knew it would be close.

But I wouldn't be lashing out at posters for having an opinion on the voting system, public forum this is after all and everyone should have freedom to say what they want without feeling like they're going to be vilified.

Once again, well done to the 4 winners who all had a great year and massive shout out to Andrews who polled extremely well in his debut year!

Not when it's all blokes.

This morning on 7's AFL Game Day, Brian Taylor was not impressed with the 4 way tie, he likened it to everyone getting a prize, he also went on to call it a disgrace by the club to allow this.

Yeah.....the other side to that ..I'm not impressed with Brian Taylor's commentating....I liken it to farting in a bath...It's a disgrace by Chanel 7 to allow it to continue...

If bt is against it I think that settles any debate or issue people had with the process. We clearly did the right thing

This is a categorically stupid argument. Whay is the alternative? Rig the votes so it doesn't happen? That would be a disgrace.

A perfect example of how the Victorian media will just slap us around no matter what.

Everything you need to know about BT was revealed the day on AFL Teams a few years back when one panellist congratulated Bradshaw for breaking the club's goalkicking record, only for BT to look straight into the camera and say "who cares?".

Utter tosser.

Not a reflection on the blues. The relationship was poisoned. They had to ditch him. He has made the off field changes and made the most of his second chance to get to this point.

If you look at the result in isolation then fine, but if you consider it in the context of our season then I don't see why people are getting too upset about it. I think its a great reflection of the season in its entirety.

horrible system if it's chewed out 4 winners

I cant understand why people come to this conclusion. Players are given points, most points win. Ties can happen, as rare as they are. Most would have Stef/Martin/Robbo as hard to split.

Either way, they are all deserved winners. I think the tie result is more a quirk than a flaw in the voting system, whatever voting system is put in place is capable of producing a tie.

For a 4 win season the positives of Beams, Bundy and Robinson + Andrews along with a few other newbies has been pretty amazing. Don't think I've seen a team in the last few years, after being labeled as a rabble, have 4 or 5 players come along and add to the team in the way these guys have. If we can clean up and structure our forward line and have just an average run with injury. Hopefully we'll see a markable improvement next year.

I don't have a problem with the 4 way tie but I was genuinely surprised with Zorko being one of them. I am probably just a bad judge.

Yeah, but he benefited from Stef and Beams missing games. His season wasn't as good but he had more games in which to collect votes.

Fact is there would have been a clear cut first and second if Beams wasn't injured and Stef wasn't suspended. It was just a crazy fluke.

So chuffed with the quality that tied. A midfield consisting of Beams, Martin, Zorko and Robbo is a brilliant foundation!
