This may also be a bit of a tactic from SOS and Trigg as well. To be fair, I think when the Prez said 'everyone is on the table' it was at a time where the club had been flogged and as a supporter group we will all calling for a proper rebuild, no quick fix etc so, perhaps naively, he was also caught up in the fervour.

At least with SOS saying 'we want to keep our elite talent',
a) It might stop a potential feeding frenzy from other clubs going after our players and keep us in the drivers seat for negotiations.

b) It might also settle the players down who now don't think they are running around with a 'For Sale' sign pinned to their backs.

If Kreuzer keeps improving and playing the way he has the last 2 weeks, Band 1 Compo may not be out of the question.
Why the hell would you want to get rid of Kruezer? I understand his injuries are an issue but look what does when he is fit. You cant get rid of him!

Prior to the season SOS says we have some good youngsters and outstanding senior players.

After round 8 SOS writes some report saying the players are not up to it, entitled, overpaid and we have litle young talent.

Now after a couple of wins SOS is saying we are trying to re-sign all the senior players and McKay is not talking rebuild but regenerate.

We are an absolute rabble of a club who continue to severely overrate our list and have absolutely no idea what it takes to build a premiership list in the modern AFL.

If people were allowed to do the job they've been charged with, then we'd have some hope.

All this chopping and changing on someone else's whims becomes a real problem. Anyway, I best move away from that before JaB comes at me again. :)

Any chance we are a club that has been in Danger's ear?
I just can't think of how we can reach the minimum cap come next year.
Judd, Carrots, Warnock on a lower wage if not delisted + others to come off our list, where does the million go just for these players?
If Kruezer stays on (so no compo), why not bring in Danger and let him play 70% forward for the next 5 years.

It's all SOS's fault, isn't it?

Why don't we give them some TIME. Pre-season the coach also thought we wouldn't lose a game. After 8 rounds looks like we wouldn't win a game and our coach is out the door. Now it's a caretaker coach, a new game plan, a new lease on life at the club.

****, these things don't happen over night. Try a little patience, it's good for ya.

By the sound of it, the Cats have money for ONE FA/RFA and Danger seems the man.

Still reckon we make Henderson & Krooz the priority signings.

when SOS first came to the club he also called for patience from supporters, saying we were about 5 years away from being a truly competitive finals side

so just because he says that we've got some good juniors & seniors, definitely doesn't mean he's completely happy where we're at.

from the moment he got to Carlton, he was looking at making list changes

I wouldn't have thought so mate. Think its Geelong or bust for Danger (with Collingwood a fall back option)

Danger isn't the type of player we actually need at this point of our list transition, we need to just learn to build via the draft, would prefer it if we didn't recruit any more we big name messiah type stars for at least 4-5 years. That type of recruiting doesn't work anymore.

From the moment MLG got to Carlton he wanted to make head recruiter changes just to fall flat on his face.

Giving SOS the benefit of the doubt for now, given his recent statements but again the CFC wants to hold back on any hero calls.....we're all sick of them.

Tell you what Harks, I feel reassured that SOS is stepping back and playing no part in our bidding for young Jack, that proves to me (as flimsy as it sounds) that SOS has enough common sense to rule with his head, not his heart.
Although I do believe Andrew McKay is the one who is more likely to part of the player trade dept (still got credit in the bank by me for turning Hampson into Docherty and a four pick downgrade for Andrejs Everitt, jury's out on the Jaksch trade, although I do believe it was the right decision to recruit Kristmad, considering Jamo's probably near the end and Rowe probably only has 3 years left)

I get a really positive vibe that The Vet and SOS are the right men to rebuild our club (based on more than blind faith I might add:) )

I'm not sure benefit of the doubt is required. :)
SOS was more or less brought in to regenerate our unbalanced and under performing list.
Some will be moved on and others who have the required work rates and skill sets will be recruited into the club.

Yarran will be traded. I can see it for a pick that will be used on Aish, or for Carlisle.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing Yarran get traded, if it's to a top team. One of my favourite players, and as purely a footy fan I would love to see him reach that next level but don't think that'll happen if he stays.

Probably went about it the wrong way but i have no issue with the prez trying to get one of the best recruiting managers to our club. I can't be against him for trying to do something in the best interests of the club. Was it done in the right manner? Hindsight says not.

Yeah but there's no hindsight required to evaluate what happened.

We over-reached, got caught with our pants around our ankles and had to pay members' monies to rectify the situation.............not smart.

I don't see Kreuzer going anywhere. He's a very loyal young man and I dare say he'd want to repay the club for standing by him during his long injury lay off.
It all depends on money I suspect, the club probably won't offer him as much as other clubs will, given his injury history.

This may be the last big contract of Humphrey's career, I would dearly love him to stay but can't blame him if he leaves elsewhere to secure his financial future.

Richmond seem to be our biggest threat, and perhaps Essendon as well (Bellchambers has been awhile this season)
