We want to collect Jeds?
We have a Jed too if you're starting a collection ;)
Too much for Geelong there. Getting Hendo for #28 and a 3 spot downgrade in the middle of the first round.

We really need another pick around that #20 mark to give back to them.

I'd take that #17, send that back to Geelong, and send #12 to GWS and dispense with next year's second rounder. Maybe use a 3rd at best.

I would like to think we could get picks in the 20s for Casboult and Bell if Levi was to go and collectively they would be worth more than #17.

Not a bad effort though.
If he is to get to his preferred destination do you see it being a last 48 sort of deal? Can't see this getting done early. You have every right to ask for a R1 pick for LH it remains to be seen whether you'll get it. Ours is too high though so will be interesting to see what transpires. In any case I guess we may know more by Monday next week or so.

Is pick 9 instead of pick 12 a massive difference?

What player would you've got at 9 that you wouldn't at 12?

There can be only 1
PSD possibility. If Carlisle and Treloar are there which one do we pick? Have we given any indications to Carlisle that we would pick him?
Brisbane would then have 2nd Pick. hahaha

He may be genuinely hungry to succeed, but hasn't had the opportunity due to the amount of quality ahead of him at both Sydney and GWS. Hopefully this is the case.

If he can do a Nick Graham and take the bull by the horns as it were, we could end up with a handy player for very little outlay. He's had less time in the system than Everitt, but there's another bloke who lacked opportunity for a while and has been a very handy pick up for the Blues.

By the same token, I'd hope we're only offering him 2 years tops at a fairly low salary. He then needs to earn a) his place in the starting 22, and b) a decent contract extension to remain with us. If he comes on we're set, if he doesn't then he hasn't cost us anything by way of a draft pick or a noticeable chunk of the salary cap.
Well said! :thumbsu:

Lamb will come cheap and fills a hole in our current side (small forward).

I know I keep harping on about this but he will be a good get. Sick of seeing our supporter base write someone off before they've even arrived at the club  Especially when most haven't even seen him play...

Agree, he's in the age bracket and even if he turns out to be no good he has cost us nothing. I like the Everitt comparison. Cannot tar players not getting a game at GWS with the same brush as other clubs' seconds.

My concern with Lamb (and has always been with Jones), a leopard never changes its spots.
Patently untrue. Plenty of footballers have had troubled starts and come good, plenty of people in other environments have done the same. Kids get drafted at 18 years of age, and are expected to just up and move to the other side of the country depending on which club picks them. It's the nature of the game, and draftees know that - but that doesn't mean that the reality of it is any easier. And considering his circumstances, moving away from the support of his family may have been much harder for Lamb than for other 18 year old kids.

You still haven't provided any evidence of his "lack of effort". It may be true, but so far your only argument is that he's been on two lists and hasn't secured a regular spot. Counter to that, both lists are extremely competitive when it comes to best 22 spots.

If he'd been at Brisbane and Essendon for the last few years and done nothing, it might carry a bit more weight. I'm not going to criticise the kid for not breaking into the Sydney or GWS sides though - some of our better players would probably have struggled to do the same.

Guys I think you guys can get Treloar via a trade.

RFC will take pick 1 would love to get Weitering.

We can offer more picks to GWS than Pies relating to Treloar.

However for Treloar to go to CFC he will probably want more incentive which is why CFC is chasing other GWS players which is fair enough.

We might be able to help and offer something to CFC to possibly but will possibly need something from GWS to offset that but I think this is doable.

The main thing is getting CFC up in 4 years or so the likes of Treloar would want to come in the first place. A number of deals over a few years apart from draft picks will probably need to take place and maximising the 2016 draft for CFC would be critical which I am sure CFC are aware of.

I mentioned in a previous post we could lose Weitering to CFC in the future via FA because by then we will need to rebuild ourselves. I think Weitering is a CFC supporter to so that helps the argument to get Treloar to CFC because basically for Treloar you say it won't happen straight away but it will happen, the building blocks are in place and you can be part of the legacy getting CFC back up again apart from simply premiership success after a few years of hard work!

I had a plethora of posters say the same thing to me when we landed Liam Jones, bet I couldn't get one of them to say the same thing now.

Agreed…wouldn't be happy with just pick 18, letting Hawthorn abuse us and other rebuilding clubs way too easily while they get another ready to go player to help them win their 4th straight premiership.

#18 and Anderson :)
The only player from Hawthorn I'd want as steak-knives for pick 18 would be Pittonet, who's had 12 months development at Box Hill.
The good thing is that BB knows the developing Hawks players and should be able to find us one that will add to our best 22 (ie. Hartung, Will Langford, Sicily, all on the fringe and the right age...)

Making the Hawks stronger will be a significant problem for us and the other aspiring clubs like NotRICHinrecentEliminationFinalsMOND.
Still like the deal where we get Lennon(#12) and #12 for #20 and Yarran(#6).
