This could be a very good year to have first pick in the pre-season draft. Clubs are wanting to make a statement about players having too much power, and maybe we snaffle a bargain because of it. it's hard to see the Pies being able to offer much to Brisbane with so much needed for Treloar, I really do see Aish going to pre-season draft without decent compensation from the pies, after the gh5 they (lions) would be wanting to make a statement for other players in the future who are planning on heading off on them. You would think we could sweet talk him from there.

"We understand his position, but the club has no intention of trading James," said Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann.
"James Aish will either be playing at the Lions or he'll be going into the draft, he won't be traded, that I can guarantee you," Matthews said.

In Swann we trust:D:D:D
"He either plays at Carlton or he plays for us" - Lions CEO Greg Swann on James Aish.

i was trying to be as realistic as possible. everyone keeps going on about getting pick 21 and 22 for cas and bell. cmon, we are kidding ourselves if we think that. Id say the both for a late first early second is about right.
I love the both of them and don't want to see them leave, but if you can't kick you lose a lot of value i would have thought.

maybe 18 and sicily from hawks for yarran?

i would have thought that tomlinson is worth 18 alone so throwing in lamb is steak knives

i also reckon plowman is worth about 20 so sumner and phillips are also the knives here?

how about edited:

henderson, 20, 38 for 9, 28, 46 and josh walker

Bell, casboult, 28, 46 for 21,22 and 39

yarran and 21 for 12 and 32

leaving us with: 1,9, 12, 22, 32 39, 56 and 74

trade 22, 32 for tomlinson, plowman phillips sumner and lamb

draft with:

1, 9, 12 with 39 56 and 74 for father sons

i still reckon wed have to give GWS more here
Nearly there I reckon.

I had:

Carlton: Out - Bell, Casboult, #38
In from Brisbane: #21, Redden pick/Leuey compo (early 20s), #58 - Lions want Bell so it only works if we package them.

Carlton: Out - Henderson, #20
In from Geelong: #9, #28

Carlton: Out - Yarran, #21
In from Richmond: #12, #31

Carlton: Out - Redden/Leuey pick from Brisbane, #28, #31 - so 3 second rounders.
In from GWS: Tomlinson, Plowman, Steak knives

Leaving us with:

In: Tomlinson, Plowman, Lamb/Phillips/knives, #9, #12
Out: Henderson, Yarran, Bell, Casboult, #20

Draft picks: 1, 9, 12, 56, 58

Only issue here is our own f/s selections. We may well choose to deal with GWS like this:

Tomlinson, Plowman, knives, #27 for #12, Redden/Leuey pick (#22ish), #31

Leaving us with 1, 9, 27, 28, 56, 58

I don't know who you are but I like you. :D
Hey thanks!

I like Tom Bell too. I wouldn't mind Yarran, Bell and #21 for #12 and #31.

You guys have some good players, too bad Malthouse was an egomaniac.

Hate Collingwood those bastards...

Would you guys do Pick 12 for Casabolt and Yarran? I wouldn't be totally against that...
If people are warming to the idea of Yarran and #20 for #12 and #31, then we are effectively cancelling out an 11 spot second round upgrade and giving up Casboult.

I'm thinking Yarran, Casboult and #38 for #12 and #31. Pretty close to what you said but we get our early third bumped up to your late-ish second.

It's not totally unrealistic, but what we get for them individually might be better value. Yarran might end up netting us 12 on his own, but of course that's best case scenario. Casboult could find his way to a club who needs a forward and are willing to pay for it. Could be an early second rounder or a player who suits our needs (which is strange, since forwards are a need...)

Last hour of the last day of trade period and pick 12 for Cas and Yarran is our last option? Take it and run IMHO.

No, that's giving Bell away.

I know you have disagreed but more and more of your supporters are considering that #12 & #31 for Yazz and #20 deal on the drafts board as it seems to place Yarran's value around #19. We are really hoping to get something around 25-30 for Bell due to his ripping year and rapid improvement.

It seems like an okay deal to be honest. But Bell has some upside and since he's already leaving, if we could include him in the final deal, I'd be pretty pleased. It's important for us to keep Lennon,
