Gee I wish you were the Blues and I was the Tiges list manager.
My simple response would be:

Ok then, see ya !!!
We'll just have a crack next year when he is a free agent.

To the draft we go with 12 and 19.

And that would be entirely understandable. feel free to explain to Yarran that you won't pony up the asking price and that he can **** off back over his burnt bridge. Wonder how much he'll love you then.

If they are playing in reserves then they are reserves players until they establish themselves as league players.

Lamb and Phillips are not exciting at all.
Would happily take just Plowman
Err you'd rather Warnock and Ellard? Nothing against Davey but he's retired for a reason. Phillips allows us to jettison 206cm of shit.

Might as well try them.

"Gee I wish..." Seems to be a constant at your club...
Gee I wish we could win a final.
Gee I wish our captain would show up in Septenber.
Gee I wish we were HALF as good as we think we are.
Gee I wish Vickery could play footy as well as he can mouth off.
Gee I wish the AFL make it the "top 9".

If you think you are going to get an end of 1st round pick for him next year then you are delusional.

No, but if you think he's still gunna love you after you jerk him around then I reckon you're pretty close to certifiable.

Pony up or explain to your prospective recruit how you don't value him enough.

Why would we be playing hard-ball with Yarran but ready to let Menzel slip for what looks like way unders?

There must be a reason. A very good reason.
SOS hasn't shown himself to be a schmuck through this trade period yet.
Why would he start now?
I did read another Carlton poster (can't remember his name) saying today that Menz has off field issues...

Good point Harker. Everything so far has been deliberate.

No pal, we will get exactly what you offering us now, a second rounder. So please tell me, what is the advantage we get from letting him walk for pick 19?

28 and Kerridge is just not enough for Menzel. I'd rather see -

Menzel + 21 for 13 + 28 + Kerridge.

I'd say that is the fairest deal for both sides. 28 then goes to the Giants for Plowman, Lamb, Sumner and Phillips. Still leaves us with 1 and 20 and hopefully pick 12 to play with.
