I believe nearly all Adelaide supporters would have preferred Kerridge in the 22 multiple times this year over some selections.
Still absolutely baffled at why he hasn't been playing. Clear best 22 player, could be anything. Has a huge aerobic tank, strong overhead, big bodied, I don't want to get rid of him at all. Can't understand this possible trade TBH, unless he wants home and Menzel does too.

The club has turned into a basket case, seriously in the last few years we have lost quality players and brought in a bunch of vfl amatures.

One really has to question the direction of the club cos clearly at the moment its going backwards 10 years.
No... we are going forwards now... we were going backwards but appear to have arrested the slide by jettisoning some deadwood that had issues with it's heartwood and are now working on getting in some guys who will play for the jumper. I would suggest that, if you are so impatient for success, you go off and support Richmond or Geelong or Hawthorn because it's going to be a while before we get back to being a very good side again.

Menz must have some recent skeletons in the closet if the trade goes through
Maybe his knee is problem. I know it worries the shite out of me every time he is tackled or is in a contest.

When it goes it will be a year out and a case of cross your fingers after that.....look at big bro.

Who's to say that fringe player at one club can't be a best-22 player for another? While I'm skeptical about the GWS players as much as you are, I wouldn't be too quick to judge them.
Look at Laidler... was a fringe player for Geelong, but came to us and became a best-22 player. Then we ****** up his knee and Mick traded him.

This obsession with GWS players worries me a bit.
Jaksch and Whiley still unknown.

Now all the talk of trading for 4 of them this year.
I just hope its not the same bloke overrating the same blokes he overrated in their draft year.
Not saying it is, I just worry this could b the case!
Skeptical as I am also and If reported correctly, 4 players, 2 of whom were 1st rounders, a second rounder, and a 202cm Tasmanian (**** Yeah I'm Biased!!), is definitely worth a punt with Pick 28. ;):thumbsu:

For arguments sake (and assuming a couple more trades go through as reported), here is an entire team of players we have traded away (including picks, and a special case or two for players that were obvious draft picks at our selection where we chose to pass), allowed to leave as free agents, and missed as F/S:

b: Laidler, Daniel Talia*, Rice
hb: Suban, Henderson, Yarran
c: Masten, Bell, Menzel
hf: Garlett, Waite, Chapman
f: Betts, Kennedy, Hampson
Foll: Jacobs, Grigg, Robinson
Bench: Lucas, Ahern, Caleb Daniel, Laverde*

Just to satisfy my curiosity as i haven't ventured on here this off season before now but what do you guys think Yarran is worth?

If i was a Blues fan I'd be disappointed in losing a guy like him.

And if they all turn out to be good players... SOS is a god!

We're disappointed we didn't have the environment for him to thrive in.................it happens.

Best of Yarran is sensational but there just has to be more of it.............maybe he's ready. Who knows?

Silvagni playing this trade period exactly how he should be by addressing our pressing need first, lack of output across the list.

Menzel is one of our brightest talents, but if sos can turn this 1 potential superstar into 5 consistent contributors then we win this deal in a big way. Especially since he keeps picks 20,21 and the Yarran pick (12)

Can't work out what's up with Menzel. He should be a marquee player alongside Cripps in the next few years, and you don't trade those. Play him into form and then if he still wants out with a new coach, Geelong will give us a fair price.
From a Geelong supporter's POV, hell yeah. If we hadn't already traded all of our picks for the next 19 years I would have gladly done our pick 9 for Menzel and a third or fourth round pick coming back our way.

I think the proposed deal is absolutely ludicrous. Menzel Jr is one player I'd absolutely kill to have at Geelong.

Any possibility that SOS is trying to extract pick 13 in possible Menzel/Kerridge trade?
Or is pick # 13 non-negotiable?

Carlton out - Menzel, 2 rd/3 rd pick ('16) - in - Pick 13, Kerridge
Adelaide out - pick 13, Kerridge in - Menzel, CFC's 2 rd /3 rd pick ('16)

Crows have Pick #13, but that seems a fair deal.

He has lots of talent, but to say he's a potential superstar is probably a bit much at this point
