According to Gleeson, Quayle and Niall at the age, Carlton came to us offering Menzel for Kerridge and 28 which seems... bizarre. But anyway.

Lots of Crows fans pumping tyres for Kerridge, so I'll give you the other, more rooted in reality side of the story; when he wasn't injured this year, the reason he wasn't getting a game for us is because he was only half arsing it in the SANFL quite a bit, not putting in the sort of effort you need to put in at the reserves level to force AFL selection. He's not a bad player, but he's not a great player either - his greatest weapon is his endurance, which has made him a decent tagger, but otherwise he's not really exceptional at anything. Not a clarance machine, not fast, average kick out to 50m, decent mark, decent set shot, but can work hard when he wants to work hard. Nathan van Berlo mk 2, but without the leadership qualities.
e: not that I think Kerridge is a bad player, he has 150-200 game workman written all over him, I just think he's a bit of a vanilla player, and we have too many of those on our list, which is why I'm happy for us to trade him while he has some value.
