Agree. Mentioned pick #13 for Menzel n a former post.
Plus offering our 2016 rd 2, or rd 3 pick in exchange for Kerridge.
Responding to AceAndy's comment, plus above posted media report/quotes re. pick #28 being mooted as part of trade.
Didn't Menzel have his medical in Adelaide today?
Our 2016 R2 pick will be Pick #19 next year if we finish last again (which unfortunately seems inevitable). That is non-negotiable that we keep that pick unless something really worthy comes along considering next year will be a stronger draft. Three picks in the top 20 will be huge for our rebuild.

we are we playing such hardball with yarran and being such bitches with menzel. i think most carlton fans would agree that we'd rather menzel on the list than yarran. menzel probably has more value on the open market than yarran, surely we can do better than pick 28. none of this makes sense.

Trying to be the eternal optimist. Heart is hoping that we may crawl off the bottom and reach lofty heights of 15/16 on ladder. (early 20's pick)
Head says position 17/18.
After reading of Menzel's hip surgery, just thought it may possibly indicate something more serious. It may not.
Offering Adelaide a future hypothetical 2nd rounder, was based on remote possibility that Menzel is potentially brittle goods (physically).

First time poster here.

IF this talk of Menzel to Adelaide for 28 and Kerridge is true I can absolutely see the logic behind it.

Pick 28 for the GWS 4.

Leaves us with the pick we receive from Richmond for Yarran, 20 and 21.

Package 20 and 21 for a pick upgrade, depending on the pick we receive from Richmond we can either send it to GWS for Tomlinson or hold onto it if we feel we can nab a a quality player through the draft.

That leaves us with the GWS 4, Kerridge and Tomlinson along with two draft picks within the first round or even three if we decide to hold onto the pick which could have gone to GWS for Tomlinson.

All in all, I feel SOS is biding his time, waiting for the pieces to fall into their places before acting.

Exciting times.

We must be getting something else off Adelaide, maybe a later pick or another player

Port getting Dixon means Mason Shaw has little to no chance of being a rookie back at Alberton. If he's willing to head east as opposed back to Perth, could be a steal in the PSD. 'Demonland' has it's own Mason Shaw thread so there is interest - 197 cm, 21 y/o forward whose body took a while to cope with the 20kgs he gained in a year.

Why are we talking about getting rid of Menzel is it because he kicks goals?
I thought kicking goals was the aim of this game and every time we get blokes that do that we trade or let them go then wonder why we can't kick a decent score.
Fair enough Fev had more than enough chances so was shown the door.
Eddie left cos we couldn't afford the extra cash because we got in Daisy.
Garlett had a poor year on & off the field & shown the door.
Waite wanted the extra year, enough said,
Hendo struggled after the above left, Gone,
Walker kicked 50+ then gets moved to the backline.
Now Menzel has a up & down year and we are talking trades WTF!

Call me petty, but I want to **** Richmond over so badly with Yarran. If they come out of trade period getting no one and have another disappointing season it would be pure bliss.
That's not petty at all. Anything anti Richmond is mature, intelligent, virtuous, honourable and shows great integrity.

I agree, Menzel has had plenty of time to show something but often only plays a quarter of footy in matches. Lots of potential, never realizing it.
Kerridge and 28 is about right considering he has not shown regularly and consistently what everyone thinks he is capable of. Maybe slight unders but not far off.
Yarran at 15 - 20 is about right too. Another 'gonna'.

You just don't get it, we're in a rebuild, we have to get rid of everybody we can. Especially if they kick goals, are young, talented, and have the potential to be great players. And in exchange, if we can get a player who can't get a game at his current club, even better !
Goals are overrated! As are good young forwards. In fact, lets ship off Casbolt as well!
What don't you understand about the word rebuild? Who cares if there's probably 12 other clubs that would want Menzal? What do they know, we're smarter because we want to get rid of him.
I agree with you 100%, I'm just preparing you for what's to come...

Yep.
I think he is overrated.
I put him the category of the Yarrans and Hendersons who do not want to play a full game of footy for the jumper. Maybe that's because of his age, inexperience, injuries but he has had enough time to show much more. I wouldnt mind keeping him to see if he develops further, but certainly not concerned about losing him either.
