They don't want an extra 126 points. That's near on useless for them, it's just giving us a(nother) leg up for no reason.

19 (Yarran), 20 and 21 are worth 2738. Pick 7 (1644) and Tomlinson....that is something they'd have to at least consider
GWS won't do 7 for 20 + 21, but they will do 7 and Tomlinson for 19, 20 + 21?

Reckon your maths is off.

Points for them is points. 126 points may not sound like much, but if one of their kids is bid on with a top 6 pick (very likely) they lose 7 regardless. If they can trade in such a way that prevents one of their second rounders sliding into the third round, then it's a good result.

126 points is equivalent to in between pick 61 and 62. Why would they bother? They'll lose pick 7 to Academy kids regardless, but they'd rather use pick 7 themselves than give another team a leg up for no personal gain. We give them an extra 1000 points, that's a pick in the teens, that is helpful to them.

Kedge has been given a lot of run-with roles so hasn't really been given chance to show off his skills but appears polished inside 50 and is talk he is a decent kick.
Plowman I believe does have a good kick, but his other traits are more of a highlight.
Lamb I believe does/did but again... opportunity etc
Doesn't matter for Sauce necessarily.
Is 'Sauce' for Phillips or (the) Lamb?

This points stuff looks like this to me.... But if points is what it takes, I say we do what we need to in order to get Tomlinson.

The Tomlinson deal is entirely separate mate. Any points gain for them is a positive - why would they improve the draft position of the top end clubs by wasting 7 on an academy selection, when they can give it to us (the furthest thing from a legitimate competitor) and increase their points total.

Talk is they've knocked back 19 for Tomlinson, so if we can draw pick 12 out of Richmond, we're back in the mix.

Talk that he might be on Melbourne's radar to pair with Hogan for the next decade.

1. Carlton - Weitering
2. Brisbane - Schache
3. Melbourne - Weideman
4. Essendon - Parish
5. Essendon - Clarke/Francis
6. Gold Coast - Oliver
7. GWS/Coll/Carlton? - Clarke/Francis
8. Carlton - Curnow
9. Adelaide - Burton

That'd be my rough guess at this point.
Why do you think Ryan Clarke and Clayton Oliver will go pick 5 or 6?
I don't know a lot about the kids getting drafted just going off how Callum Twomey rated the players and he had Olver and Clarke rated 23 and 24.

I am just really glad Carlton and SOS havent folded under pressure like our previous 10 trade periods!!
If Richmond arent going to pony up with pick 12, id just take 19+knives as long as it was decent eg; Menadue (highly unlikely) but in all honestly in the last 2 seasons what has Yarran done to show the world he is worth more than pick 19.... nothing. I dont think we should be greedy either, a good reputation from this trade period will hold us in good stead going forward, eg; Geelong.
If Yarran goes for 19, that gives us 1, 8, 19, 20, 21, 59 + 60... id happily offer 19, 20 and 21 for Tomlinson and 7, or just 21 for Tomlinson but then again id be just as happy to keep our current picks..
It could end up with us taking Curnow/Franics/Weideman/McKay at 8, would we rather take 2 of those along with Tomlinson or grab one of them along with Tomlinson and 2 potential sliders, eg; Collins, Gresham, Mathieson potentially.. or keep all our picks and get potential 1st round 3 sliders?

In an ideal world from my point of view, we trade Yarran for 19 + knives (fair and realistic), send 19, 20 and 21 to GWS for Tomlinson and 7 (pending Treloar trade).
Take 1, 7, 8, 59 + 60 to the draft. Take Weitering, Curnow and Weideman/McKay and SOSOS. Melbourne interest in Weideman may destroy that possibily though.. hopefully they want Parish.
Pre-season draft theres still potential to get Aish.
So all up our trade/draft period could realistically and potentially be..
IN: Tomlinson, Plowman, Kerridge, Sumner, Lamb, Phillips, 1 (Weitering), 7 (Curnow), 8 (McKay/Weideman), SOSOS.
OUT: Menzel, Yarran, Henderson (the 3 blokes at our club who pissed me off the most all season). Plus delisting Warnock and maybe Army/White

So with a fully fit list we could have
Touhy Jamison Plowman
Docherty Weitering Simpson
Gibbs Cripps Thomas
Curnow Tomlinson Sumner
Everitt Casboult Lamb
Kreuzer Murphy Curnow

Buckley Boekhorst Graham Kerridge

Depth: Jaksch Holman Whiley Rowe Tutt Smith Rainbow (love this bloke) Byrne Sheehan Walsh. Weideman/McKay developing for a year..and then i spose theres Jones!

Overall incredibly pleased at the moment, still a day to go though, fingers crossed for the next 22 hours!
