I think GWS will trade pick 7 from the pies to us for 20 and 21. That will give them an extra 146 points. That will leave us with pick 1,7,8 and 12 when the Tigers fold and bring in SOS jr as well. If that happened SOS has done an amazing job.
If SOS can land us those picks that is sensational to make an understatement& he will already have left his huge stamp as list manager in such a short time at the club already:D.

Why do you think Ryan Clarke and Clayton Oliver will go pick 5 or 6?
I don't know a lot about the kids getting drafted just going off how Callum Twomey rated the players and he had Olver and Clarke rated 23 and 24.
Clarke has dropped down the rankings due to injury, but his form prior to that was apparently phenomenal. Don't think Essendon need much in the way of height, so a hard-working mid that runs all day should be near the top of their wishlist.

Oliver has pushed up the rankings at the back end of the year, and being a solidly built, pack-busting midfielder should appeal to Gold Coast given their midfield is fairly slight (Ablett, O'Meara, Martin, Swallow, Hall, Garlett) and the loss of Bennell.

Not the most educated of opinions, just where I can see the cards falling.

He isn't a first year player wasn't injured and there were players he could have replaced who aren't that good...so logic is ok...Menzel too young talent doesn't equal a fringe player by all accounts and an average pick
Check your facts.

Hammy at the start of the year, came back and did his ankle in his first senior game back.

Was always going to struggle to break into the team in the last few rounds when they were winning games and pushing into finals.

Where have all the SOS bashers from last night gone...? I actually thought it was rather obvious what he was trying to do by getting 28 in that Menzel/Kerridge trade.. Great trading SOS!
Ill put my hand up. I was one of those SOS bashers... And the intensity lifted a notch when I heard Menzal was gone... BUT, I'm prepared to concede that I might've gone early with the criticism. He's proved me wrong today and I'm quite impressed. So my sincere apologies to SOS.

And if he can land Tomlinson, I will completely forgive the Menzal thing and proclaim him as a genius.

Fair enough, I heard On trade radio from some one from Gold Coast can't remember who talking about the trade with Melbourne and saying that he saw it as three groups picks 1-2 picks 3-6 and picks 7-16. So I have a feeling that parish, weiderman, curnow and Francis. Will be the four that will go pick 3-6 excluding the academy kids.

FWIW, bit hard to put a value on the GWS 4 but I've tried

Phillips - not much, maybe 4th rounder?
Lamb - also not much, 5th rounder
Sumner and Plowman - Both high picks, both haven't lived up to it because of injury, similar to Freeman who got Collingwood an early second rounder

So all in all, that equates to a mid first rounder I think? Say pick 12.

So the trade was

In: Pick 8, 12
Out: Late first rounder (14), 28, 77, 95

This obviously ignores the Menzel aspect but that seems like a pretty good win to me.

Carlton website is running top trades by club and still yet to announce number 1. i think its a sign that SOS is about to make the best trade in the clubs history tomorrow and that will be announced as number 1. the only other trades of note by the club are Liam Jones, Rob Warnock, Andy Collins, Brock Mclean, Greg Williams and Lachie Henderson and they are all a bunch of plodders. So expect a massive trade tomorrow. Maybe a three way deal with Freo and Eagle to land Kennedy and Fyfe?

Honestly, I reckon it's (1), (2-10), (11-25) once you take out the academy kids. Even Schache isn't that much of a leap from some of the others - he's only been pushed up to top 2 because that's where Brisbane is sitting.
