So if we trade both our 2nd rounders for GWS 1st they are actually way up on points:

Carlton trade #20 (912) + #21 (878) = 1790 --> GWS for #10 (1395)
Tomlinson is worth more than 395 points but if we got any picks for any or all of Warnock, Jones, Rowe, Tutt, Forster, Fields, & Gowers.

We could end up w/ picks 1, 8, 10, & 12 as well as the 59, 60 for SOSOS

I would rather picks 20 & 21 (1790 pts ) for GC's pick 6 (1756 pts )

1= Weitering
6= Collins
12= Mid

Yeah, he'll have to plonk in. I rate him as a one on one defender though I don't think his skills are up to being a forward
I think he could be much better forward than he ever could be in defence.

Forward removes the responsibility of looking after a player from him, he has a very good set shot, good hands and as you say, good one-on-one body work. He wouldn't want a particularly quick defender to be on him if he wants to do well on a lead, but that doesn't really matter with the way we deliver it into 50 anyway lol.

In short - has all the tools to be a decent enough forward for now, and won't have the pressure of looking after a key forward while we are getting smashed each week.

Since SOS was on SEN and he was saying he had something bubbling away I've been trying to work out what he could be up to. He seemed to me like he was bursting to say what it was (could've just been me). Anyway here's my theory of what happens tomorrow.

12 or 19 for Yarran
20 & 21 to gws for pick 10
Pick 8 & 10 to Western Bulldogs for Boyd
Leaves us with pick 1, 12 or 19 , (60 & 90 odd for SOSOS)

Goes some of the way to solving the forward problem everyone says we have. Given his form so far this trade week he might even get the doggies to pay a nice portion of the biggest years of Boyds contract.

I haven't done one of these hypotheticals before so be gentle

If we end up getting Tomlinson for the Yarran pick, a tidy way of looking at our list changes via trade week would be,

Henderson > Tomlinson
Bell > Kerridge
Yarran > plowman
Menzel > Sumner, Lamb

+ Phillips, pick 8, pick 21

We've actually covered our losses list balance wise pretty well, and bagged 2 good draft picks and a back up ruckman.

Just keep picks 8 and 10! Tom Boyd is too expensive! That contract is massive!! I'd prefer Tomlinson.

With us bringing in 5 players, anyone else concerned about the 2nd round of cuts? I think list lodgement could be interesting.

We might need up to 7 picks on draft night if we go with 4-5 inside the first 21 and leave a couple of late picks for SOSOS bidding. Hence the possibility of cutting another 3-4 players before we're done.

Aside from Yarran, expect subtle trades on the final day - a player traded out with a pick upgrade, exchanging 2015 picks for 2016 and the infamous 3-for-1 pick in the top 10.
