IMO it depends on the team. Sydney travel alot and their gamestyle adapts well to most grounds.
I would say it's a one goal advantage for us against Swans, Port but probably 2-3 goals against Vic clubs

It's an advantage to us, I think, cos it's easier to corral someone like Buddy on a narrower oval

That's the truth of it for sure, and in that sense I'm loving the attention my clubs getting. The problem is that it's only Round 3 and we're being hyped as if it's Grand Final week and we're in the parade.
Let's put it this way, come rounds 18+ and we're looking likely for a top 2 I'd be a lot more comfortable with the hype.
It's weird at work with everyone talking up Freo. I had one guy telling me we were going to smash Sydney and that we'd beat them by at least 5 goals. I wish I was that optimistic about this week's game.
I am very comfortable with it, myself.
In Ross' time we have played finals every year, winning our first final in Melb. What comes with that is what we are receiving now; Freo are a serious contender, we were a good chance of winning the GF in 2013 followed by an early favourite for last year's flag.
There is no more flying under the radar. What you see is what you get; Consistency and strong performances.
We started the year as a top 4 fancy. We win this week and we will still be considered a top 4 team except it'll be top two.
Ross has kept the players focussed on the task with a reward for effort mantra.
There is one thing certain about Fremantle now; we don't put in hot and cold performances which dogged us for years. If Fremantle lose games it is highly likely we are undermanned or several players are Ill or playing with injury, but we don't make excuses.
We don't lose games because we felt we didn't have to put in maximum effort because someone else would step up to win the game, mentality.
It is a simple equation for the players , if you don't perform someone else will take your spot.
Fremantle is now like Hawthorn. We are highly fancied and for good reason.
It has not affected Hawthorn and it won't affect us.
Furthermore, I expect we will beat Sydney by 35 points. Not exactly a close game.

Except we're not reigning dual premiers i.e. they've proven they can go all the way and repeatedly so.
But yes, fair enough otherwise.
Either way, the hype and what we feel about it is hot air that fades away. What we all want is wins and a genuine crack at the big one and I'm loving the way we're tracking and have tracked in recent years. And yes, hype will come with it. So I'm not uncomfortable with it as such, that's not the right term, I just don't put much weight on it is really what I mean.
The hype is for the fans. Can't see it effecting the players on a team that has never won a GF, led by veterans such as Pavlich, Sandilands, MacPharlin, MJ and Mundy, and that is coached by Ross Lyon.

Woosha has just stated on Gameday that Dockers now have 50 000 members (for the first time ever) but I have not seen this anywhere else?

Would some of them be on a waiting list given the Subi seating capacity is 40 000? And if so, do we have some sort of naff name for it?
Obviously not all reserved seat memberships. But I think that would be the same as all clubs.

Woosha was quite flattering of Freo & that there the west team @ present with out bagging the Eagles.
There would be a decent number of Victorian and other interstate memberships.

It's very possible, but I have noticed that the club is pushing 3 game memberships lately
We also still have country memberships, can't see them lasting much longer though.
They won't get rid of them, especially with the new stadium being built. Travelling 100 + km's each way every week is a big effort, especially when you play your own sport on the weekend.
3 games memberships are great for people who only want to attend a few games a year. With the new stadium I would expect more of these.
I wish you could pick and choose which games you attended. Port do a 3 game membership and you can pick which games you attend, and if you want to attend the showdown (our derby) you have to pay extra.
