They won't get rid of them, especially with the new stadium being built. Travelling 100 + km's each way every week is a big effort, especially when you play your own sport on the weekend.

They do have a limit of how many country memberships they sell (they sold out this year). I no longer get the country membership but last one that I got did have something on them saying they may be phased out if the membership gets to a certain level. The Eagles no longer have them (they used to).

But yeah, we will probably move to the new stadium before that happens.

Yes, it must be hard being a sex object. Tell me some more about it.

It has made me terribly self conscious. I felt so cheap for a long time.
I was a competitive swimmer as a young bloke and was forced to stop wearing speedos. Suffice to say I didn't win many races after that. If that wasn't enough, the next to go was going shirtless.
That is right, I had to dress down.
At a very early age there were girls at school asking my sister how did I sleep. That then escalated to asking her could she take photographs of me in bed.
Now, you need to understand that this was before self developing cameras and my mother couldn't afford to pay to develop the photos.
I have come to accept it all now but my self confidence has taken a massive hit. As my counsellor said, there are many people with bigger problems than me.
I think of those sessions often to keep things in perspective.
So I have empathy for Matt deBoer but I am sure he can cope.

we need some photographic evidence lol

we could double date lol

I happened to bump into young Matty, along with Micky Barlow and I think, Jay van Berlo after that match a few years back where Melbourne came back from about 50 points down. It was at Melbourne Airport. And I say, I think it was Jay van Berlo as he did not even register after seeing Matt. He had the good grace to look embarrassed spotting a fully kitted out Freo fan following the match, and me? I ceased to function as a human being. I just melted into my joggers. So a double-date definitely is out of the question. I can only lust after him from afar, I'm afraid.

I would also feel like a bit of a pedophile, considering the age difference (just quietly) :$

I had to cast my vote for the re-run of the senate election before boarding the plane at Perth airport to go to the semi in Geelong. I was standing next to Paul Duffield (he was in the booth next to mine) and I can't even remember how I voted lol

The Boss on 3AW tonight at 30.58 into the Podcast.

Amongst the things covered:-
- He indicates that the move away from tagging was made late last year and Clancee was being groomed for the role but it has not been invoked thus far.
- Col has a Duty of Care Manager allocated these days. Something will eventually have to give with this bloke.....

Matty's chiseled good looks clearly have quite an impact on you Mezz, given that none of the three players you mention were playing for Freo in that particular match! :D (I should know, I was there at the MCG that day in 2008 and will remember that game for the rest of my life...:mad::mad:)

And ditto for your Duffers fetish, FreoGirl, because that was the actual 2013 election and not the Senate re-run! ;)

IMO it depends on the team. Sydney travel alot and their gamestyle adapts well to most grounds.

I would say it's a one goal advantage for us against Swans, Port but probably 2-3 goals against Vic clubs

For what it's worth, "The Squiggle" uses a 2 goal difference for interstate sides meeting each other (+6 points for home side, -6 points for away side). I assume he has worked that out based on crunching numbers/models to ascertain the approximate value of a home ground advantage.

By that measure we would have lost to Port and been close to another draw with Sydney. A good reason to keep a lid on things.

I know what you mean Mezz.
Last year I went up to Darwin to watch the game v Melbourne. Walking down the main street, was a possy of young Freo players..Barls,Fyfe,Spurr and 2 others (brain-fade = star-struck!)
Hubby wanted to ask them to pose for a photo with me and I panicked and walked away :$:$:$
If only I could re-wind the clock.....

Well, it was defo those players and it was Melbourne we had just played at the 'G and they had come back from a deficit so I will do my research and get back to you ;)

edit: might be round 13 2010, we were two goals behind at HT and then lost by 89 points. So my memory is a bit hazy (juvenile dementia).

All three of those players were drafted after that game (I had to look it up as I had had the memory centres pertaining to that game burned from my brain by laser) took place. De Boer in a few months later in 2008, the other two the season after. It must have been on another occasion that this bumping took place.

Basil is quite brilliant. Monday night, Simpson. "Great win on the weekend, blah blah blah".

Tuesday night Ross. "Sylvia retired, shame Mora will never play again, Crowley more bad news. What's that - Silvagni out for 12 weeks? Oh, you are flying, thanks Ross".

The degree to which the Melbourne media are studiously avoiding mention of the lone leader on top of the ladder is also astounding. It's suddenly all about the Dogs going up and Rickmond/GC going down!

Tonight Robbo was waxing lyrical about the Port/hawks game flowing into the "Sydney" game! How on earth does a game played in Freo and won by Freo (and which ends up determining the current sole ladder leader) get described as the Sydney game? Very revealing as to how they're thinking.

To be fair we got a bit of a run last week, but I thought this was the more appropriate week for the accolades. I mean plenty of teams are going to carve up WC!
