I found this one from AFL as of round 23, 2014 so we can compare :)

The most games in history as captain are Stephen Kernahan (226 games as captain), Dick Reynolds (224 games as captain), Ted Whitten (212 games as captain), Michael Voss (210 games as captain), John Nicholls (188 games as captain), Wayne Carey (184 games as captain), Paul Kelly (182 games as captain), Nick Riewoldt (181 games as captain), Danny Frawley (177 games as captain), David Neitz (175 games as captain).

Edit: Looks like N Riewoldt is the only addition to yours.

And if Pav keeps going til rd 23 (touch wood) that's another 16 onto 174 = 190, which will be 5th or 6th depending on what Riewoldt plays.

I think this just goes to show what an absolute legend Pav is, and I think a lot of his achievements go unnoticed.

I think we have been so lucky to be lead by someone who is such a good footballer and also, more importantly, such a class act off the field. His leadership could not be more mature.

I know this sounds like something a Western Australian would say, but the commentary of the Freo/Dogs game was a disgrace. There really was nothing impartial about it. Voices raised to fever pitched when the dogs scored a goal, and pretty quiet when Freo got one.
Commentators always cheer on the underdogs. Remember how thrilled they were when the Saints beat us? Not too many good commentators, I'd say Huddo and Matt Campbell are two of the best.

Would like to think that this applied to us when we were shit and taking it up to the top teams too. But somehow I think the commentators spent those games going off about how good the top team was.

Yep, spot on. Never happened when we were the underdogs. Never.

We've managed to gain a little bit of respect in the football world but we've still got a long way to go until most football followers can tolerate us as a club.

Before respect comes FEAR. We are starting to get that now and we'll know we've arrived when we're nobody's 'second club'.

All time top 11. (Accurate in 2007) This is the best list I can find.
1. Kernahan
2 Reynolds (224)
3. Whitten (212)
4. Voss (210)
5. Nicholls (188)
6. Carey (184)
7. Kelly (182)
8. Frawley (177)
9. Bentley (168)
9. Neitz (168)*
11. Skilton (165)

So that means now.
1. Kernahan
2 Reynolds (224)
3. Whitten (212)
4. Voss (210)
5. Nicholls (188)
6. Carey (184)
7. Kelly (182)
8. Frawley (177)
10. Neitz (175)
11. Pavlich(174)*

Not sure which player we are missing

So that means Matt Pavlich retires on 243 games as captain.

Are you sure? I'm deadset positive we won that game.

We won the derby when Chris Judd won the RGM. Hence the booing, as Josh Carr actually won us the game but Judd's stats got him over the line.

Even Ross "The Chin" Glendinning himself said that Josh Carr should have won the medal.

Just a top line human is Pav. Holds himself well, plays brilliantly... everything you would want in a player, captain, leader etc etc. Will be a tough act to follow.

Hope we keep him around the club somehow. Would love to see him coach us.... but only after an extended apprenticeship. (unlike the golden boy)

Wikipedia says Gardiner won it in 2003 because Glendinning overruled the voters.
