I didn't hear the beginning of the interview so I'm not sure how much I missed and unfortunately in spite of sitting in the car park for 45 minutes I didn't catch the end. I must say I was seriously impressed with Jeff. He has always been one of my all time favourites but I don't think I expected to hear one of the best interviews I've heard. Jeff was relaxed and honest and open but I'm a little surprised (shocked actually) at how articulate and yes, intelligent and considered this interview was. I think I'm conditioned to hear the stock standard, scripted answers we usually get these days. When I tuned in he was talking about how he came to be drafted when recruiters were at a South Freo game to see Travis Gaspar (I think) and they reported about this kid who was popping up all over the field like a Wizard, hence the name. When he first got to Melbourne he felt he had a lot of support from the club and he clearly thinks the world of Neal Daniher. He said he was always fighting homesickness and the club flew his parents over for a bit so that helped. He talked about quite a few games and players and a lot that you guys would probably all remember but was sadly before my time. The famous game where he kicked 9 goals in one half of a game was obviously the highlite. He was not going well in the first half and was left sitting on the pine until someone broke their arm and he said what happened from there is what every footy player growing up dreams of and he got to experience. Every kick went his way, every goal went through, every mark dropped in his lap etc. He could do no wrong and he ended up with 9 in a half. He said leaving Melbourne FC was like leaving his family all over again and the hardest decision he's had to make but the pull was too strong and he needed to see more of his WA family. He got to Freo and it was like starting from scratch. Chris Connolly was the new coach, Belly the new Captain, Trent Croad was new and the club was under all sorts of strife. He said Chris was fantastic and everyone understood and supported the plan to promote the club and get the game up and running. He said everyone went way over and above what a footy player at another club would be expected to do but they were all really striving for success. He touched on how hard the media was on them but not in a poor us way but how Chris did such a good job protecting the players from the stories that had no basis in fact etc. and keeping them as steady as possible. He was way more diplomatic than anyone else would be considering the atrociuos hounding he got from the Worst. He talked about the first final we made, and our Preliminary final against Sydney and how they just kept coming and matching us and they couldn't get any breathing space then He said they all went to the WC v Syd Grand final and felt Sydney looked like they had played their grand final the week before against us and WC did to them what they had done to us. The interview continued but I HAD to leave it there unfortunately.
Jeff Farmer is a champion bloke! The station had a steady stream of positive texts and emails during the whole interview. He is playing in the Legends game this week. I will sure be watching.

If anyone just watched On the couch I hope you had as much of a laugh as I did. The panel ultimately wrote us off as premiership contenders and had a huge piece lead by Healy on West Coast and their 'web defence'. Healy usually isn't too bad to us but his infatuation with anything west coast is incredibly annoying, just manages to mention them when talking about any topic.

Fremantle haven't scored much in the last four weeks was the talking point. Not one mention that the conditions may have had something to do with it.

And they Sheahan was his usual treating Freo with distain in his Modra interview. It was not unexpected.

If anyone manages to find a link to this I'd love to listen. I've had a look through the SEN website but can't find it anywhere.

Honestly, the AFL media are like 14 year old girls choosing their favourite One Direction 'band' member, one good game and they will be talking us up again, it's one of the reasons I rarely watch these shows anymore.

Is this it?

The OTC crew wrote the Hawks off at several times last year as well. We're in a bit of a slump no doubt and yet still winning.

The overwhelming praise after 6 games was just as shallow as the latest BS.

And that is a sign of a good team. Our tall(er) forwards have kicked SFA the past 3 games (conditions certainly hampered their influence if you look at goals opposition talls kicked in that same chunk of games - Cloke, White, J.Riewoldt, etc. with ****ing Vickery the anomaly)\

I'm hoping for a dry July so to speak and we can get our % back to where we want it to be and get some goals by guys like Pav, Tabs, Mayne, Clarke (if he's back)
