I think the club will be facing quite a backlash from the "casual" member next year, even I as a 20+ year member in 2015 will be downgrading my total package. I would think a realistic target would 60k for 2015.

The club has gone quiet on its 110% marketing campaign and the constant nagging for members to give more and more and more each year seems to have subsided as the team has run off the rails.

I think its time the club gave a little back to us and dropped membership prices by 10% in 2015 as an act of goodwill to fans that they "value" so much (although it feels like the only value us by $$$$).

Wont happen but they are going to have to figure something out in the membership department. They will probably spin it and say our recruiting and footy department need even more money and ask us to give 120% while the team gives us nothing!

Yeah... won't happen. Costs increase, not decrease as you've identified.

The casual members will always drop off when things aren't going well, they'll jump back on when they are and forever it will be.

Don't fret though, we'll win some meaningless games late to pump up the hope over the off-season....

Yep the marketing and Membership department are going to earn their keep next year for sure.

The beauty of football seasons is that there is 5 months or so in between them - often long enough to forget about how much a serrated blade through your heart actually hurts before you turn around and it all over again

The marketing dept have done a GREAT job for the numbers this year and they will have to work MUCH harder next year. There will be a drop off. There are a few old timers that spat the dummy late in the game on Saturday, and I expect I won't be seeing them for a few weeks.

The only good that will come out of yesterday is that absolutely no cracks will be papered over which is what would've happened with a win.

We have an opportunity to really dig in and find out what the source of the cancer is.

Also I suggest that if seeing Chaplin laugh this morning on game day, made you upset, please contact the club and let them know. I think that's unacceptable, they should too and they should start listening to their real stakeholders before we walk away in masses.

Lets not get too precious about things. I was able to find time for a rare smile on the day my dear young sister died. Our lives are not scripted. If you have too worry about when you are laughing or smiling and if there is a camera on you at the time you will find you are constantly walking on egg shells.

While I think Chaplin has not got too much to laugh about from a career perspective at the moment lets cut the guy some slack and just focus on what it is we are actually paying him for. Beyond that he is still a human being

While I'm sorry to hear that your sister passed away, I think the situation is a bit different. All I know is that if I kept stuffing at work, in front of my clients, of which I get paid very well to do - and was laughing and mucking around after my continual stuff ups, it wouldn't go down very well at all.

I've heard the same crap from Chaplin on SEN all year about, how the team needs to do this and the team needs to do that, I know that he can't be in the public saying "im crap, I lose 1 on 1's" but when we hear and see him in these media roles, we don't have a lot more to go by - we'll never see what goes on behind close doors.

Might have mis-interpreted what it was that you were suggesting he was laughing about....sorry. Thought you were referring to laughing on Tommy's day

No, Tiger_4_Life is still being precious.
God forbid a player not be severely depressed the day after losing.
If I mucked up a few times at work, then when I get off work I'm probably likely to want to do something that does make me laugh and smile. Criticize Chaplin all you want for how he's playing but FFS let the guy smile!
