They changed it this year so as to give time for cars transferring from one race to the other to be repaired.

Not sure why they bothered considering only the top 2 get through, so unless you blow up or crash going over the finish line, you'd be good to go. Fan vote winner could have crashed i guess.

I think the other thing is they've swapped it with the pit crew challenge that's currently on.I think that use to be the night before if not a couple of nights before the All-Star race.

BTW Jeff Gordon is joining Mike Joy & Darrell Waltrip in the Fox commentary team next year.Larry McReynolds will move to the Hollywood Hotel with Chris Myers & Michael Waltrip.
