....continued. Three other new players have turned up in town...working around the place. All three with great credentials too. One from the Hampden and others from central Victoria, but there's no room for them under the points system. Also a key ruck, who signed last year but ended up missing the season for personal reasons is now available. He'll hold down the first ruck and leave Stavenuiter to take centre half forward. Look for gradual improvement from the Dolphins next season.

Points or salary cap issues? The salary cap would be full with the players that come back last season plus new recruits.

Saw the bay boys train in geelong on wenseday night. Would be roughly 20 there. How will they go this year? Also what other clubs have players that train as a geelong group?

Huge crowds here last Easter for the season opener between Lorne and Birregurra...around 2500 people, which is amazing. Crowds here are always good for matches against Apollo Bay...traditional rivals as the only two coastal teams.

Do apollo bay get a good following? Interested in them this year as I love the town. Also like birre and alvie as country clubs

What an absolute joke. I understand Forrest getting more points as they don't have jnrs but that's it. how is this an even playing field. A team like Birrey get penalised for having great juniors over the last 5 years.

Birre are not getting penalised. They are free to play all these juniors and not need extra points

FORREST FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
11.01.2016

The Forrest Football Netball Club has formally advised AFL Barwon and the CDFNL that the committee has passed a resolution to place the club into recession for the coming 2016 season.

Whilst reluctant to take this course of action, a number of contributing factors, including an ongoing lack of local junior and senior players has placed enormous pressure on the club in recent years to remain viable in the competition.

A revised 2016 CDFNL Fixture will be formulated and distributed to all clubs in the coming days.

Hard to see Solo but should be some stiff competition from a few sides this year
This is a weird thread. You lose one of your main teams in Forrest, and no one seems to give a rats toss bag (Thanks Sam Newman, or was that Malcolm Blights quote?). Anyway, I suppose you all realise that they'll never come back from here, because all their (ex) players are now filtering back into other leagues. We'll never see that team again.

its a hard task to come back from here but not impossible and they've done it before in the mid eighties. Forrest will continue to grow as a destination and I'm sure that at some stage the club will be up and running again. It would be a damn shame if they didn't.
