I have Platinum HD in Foxtel and they no longer have the Bio channel which I used to enjoy.

If they don't buy any of the EPL games from Optus - which I do watch - are they going to reduce my bloated monthly charge?

What about it Foxtel?
I half expect the price to go up to compensate for the 1000's of EPL fans who bail as a result.

Who are you with? If any of the companies now owned by TPG I wouldn't expect too much from Fetch. They aren't going to be selling it anymore and I don't know what will happen with existing customers.
With Optus. Having the Fetch box is about $10 dollars a month on top of home phone and Internet package. Have Fox with Sports channels and Netflix through PlayStation system. Oh and Apple TV :drunk:. I use The Fox and PlayStation and the better half uses Apple TV and Fetch.

What do people think about the EPL being purchased by Optus? Rowie is going off about it but seems like a non issue to me.

I am not generally a fan of Apple, but I do like the Apple TV.

I had a couple of WD TV Live media players but they were always a little slow and started getting really glitchy. I have an Apple TV on the lounge and bedroom TVs and have them set to use a DNS redirect so I can use Hulu Plus in addition to Netflix. The ad-free Hulu is worth it, the streaming quality is fantastic and you don't get interrupted repeatedly.

Those TVs also have Chromecasts and there are some things I stream from the PC. I have had numerous issues with the ABC iView app on all my mobile devices streaming to both the AppleTV and the Chromecast so I just run it on the PC and mirror the screen on the TV. That's also a way to run Foxtel Go on the TV easily for anyone that has that.

Have a WD media player for one of my LG's that isn't smart enough, so hook up a 2tb hard drive to access the movies stored. Will look into Hulu plus.:thumbsu: Probably spend $180 a month on all the media ATM.

I'm pretty sure that when my Austar with all the channels converted to Foxtel our price came down by about $20 a month. Life's tough on the frontier.

Yeah, Foxtel is dying. I get 90% of the stuff I watch with a combined Netflix and Hulu plus. Even splurging for the ad-free Hulu it works out to only around $25 a month total. That's what it costs to get a single shitty channel pack from Foxtel play.
I'm starting to agree. The sports I watch can be purchased via passes for cheap. Then you add Netflix , it's so much more cheaper than Foxtel...

We got Netflix for six months as part of the Optus contract. Can't see the attraction myself. And because our internet is so CRAP, it's patchy with buffering. Got very limited stuff on there, most of which I've seen or wouldn't want to watch again. Pay a FORTUNE for Foxtel (IQ2 and IQ on the second set) and really only have it for the footy and movies. I don't mind lifestyle (for the real estate renos) and bio channels. Our whole house is Apple so use Apple TV a fair bit. Too scared to download movies anymore though. :straining:

The Australian Netflix does have a pretty small library. It should grow over time, but there are ways to access the libraries of other countries' Netflix

This is the size of each version.

I pay $5 a month for Unblock.us to get the US version. Much better than the Australian one.

Wow, ok, would be very appreciative of a PM explaining how that could work!
  1. Buy/trial Getflix: http://www.getflix.com.au/
  2. Select a location in your account settings (eg. United States)
  3. Set up your DNS settings on your computer/device to use Getflix, following their instructions
  4. Open Netflix. It's now the US Netflix.
  5. (Optional) Change the region again and use a different country's Netflix

Yeah agree nothing on Netflix AU but a lot of people use Netflix us which is apparently a lot better.

Port in 2015: Ryder is the missing piece of the premiership puzzle.

Port in post season 2015 (after the acquisition of Dixon): Just give us the premiership!

The sense of delusion and grandeur is great. I can’t wait to see Whinegard’s sooky face when they collapse again.

The overrating of Charlie Dixon amongst Port supporters is massive.

I swear half of them have never actually watched him play outside of the times that he has played against Port. Half of the Port supporters last year thought they were getting a key forward when they recruited Ryder
