We’re now good to go and the participants here, have been tagged into the game.

Jeremias will keep this thing rolling along and send out wake-up calls where required. (4 hour gaps, between say 8a.m. and 10 p.m.)

Jeremias will also keep tab of the points and change the order of the draft where required....and it will be required.

Feel free to drop in a name and do the write up later but only where editing your original post. It just allows non-participants to follow things a little easier

Anyone can call out one of the Academy guys but must tag-in whoever has dibs into that player:
i.e. If Melbourne selects Mills they must tag in whoever owns Sydney for them to either match, or not match the bid.

It is a little tricky for those holding GWS, Sydney & Brisbane and maybe Carlton at a later stage of proceedings.

Others are welcome to join in and voice their feelings on the selections............be it good or bad J

HARKER , it seems you failed to tag THE_GUN properly. Is that because you didn't want to catch any FTDs (forum transmitted delusions)?

I would love to have contributed, but I don't really know enough about the draft pool. But I'll be watching you guys/gals closely.

Thanks to you Harks and to J for organising and for all the other contributors!

Looks like Carlton will be selecting Weitering without a doubt so i may as well go straight to pick 2 for brisbane just not to keep people waiting.

2. Brisbane – Joshua Schache (VIC – KPF)
Height: 199cm, Weight: 96kg, DOB: 21/08/1997

Kinghtmare say's
Schache has the ability to be a 200 gamer and has the ability to develop into one of the better young key forwards in the game. Schache I expect will take a few seasons to develop and likely around season three or four come into his own

If ever there was a club in desperate need of a quality foward or even a decent foward its Brisbane and Joshua Schache is the best available this draft and things have worked out perfectly for Brisbane and Carlton needing to take Jacob Weitering has made Brisbanes job and choice easy.

Carlton – Pick 1 - Jacob Weitering – Dandenong Stingrays/Vic Country (Key Defender 195cm/93kgs)

You just can’t see a better player this year. Key defender Weitering has dominated the TAC Cup and is almost undoubtedly the best player in the draft.

Weitering has sublime skills by foot and hand as he rarely wastes it. Carlton look set to pick up the gun defender and this guy could fit in perfectly and almost immediately jump Sam Rowe as the clubs main defender.

He is not your usual key defender with a knack of leaving his man to float across packs in defence, take big grabs and then set up the play with his damaging right-foot kicking. At last week’s combine, Weitering ran a 15.1 beep test – an elite level for any prospect.

Well I'll be bidding on Hopper at Pick 4 if Melbourne doesn't before me.

Maybe we can work something out...

Let's say you didn't bid on my guys, and in return, I petition the AFL to fixture us a "Non-Farmers Round" when we play you at the 'G? Between that and your Farmers Round against Geelong, you'll have the whole market cornered.

Pick 1: Jacob Weitering

The draft has moved on already so it is lucky I decided to not pull any surprises, as tempting as it may have been to do so.

For some time Weitering has been the consensus number 1 pick and I expect to see Carlton call his name out on draft night. Schache may have been seriously considered but everything points to Weitering being our man.

We have very publicly acknowledged we are embarking on a rebuild and we seem to have identified not just players but people who can help us on that journey.

Weitering fits the bill perfectly as one of those players, but more importantly, he fits the bill as one of those people.

I'll provide more of a write up later to include where I see him fitting and expectations for 2016 (and beyond) but no time right now.

Me thinks Andy D is back

Tossed up between going for a tall to help Hogan but couldn't pass this guy and still believe I will get a tall at 7. IMO this guy is as good asanyone in the draft. Put him next to Petracca Brayshaw Viney Jones etc and watch out. Can play anywhere and a leader. What the Demons need.

Aaron Francis (SA – DEF/FWD)
Height: 190cm, Weight: 86kg, DOB: 10/08/1997
Recruited from: West Adelaide

Francis projects to become one of the better and more impactful utilities in the competition. He can be a 200 gamer, looks ready to play at AFL level in season one when the opportunity presents and after a few years in the system can become an impactful player back or forward.

My personal opinion is he will become a genuine utility all over the ground. Bit like Goddard with better physicallity and leadership. If it wasn't for Weitering he would be my number 1 just ahead of Curnow.

I pick Francis after being outbid for Mills. Is that how it works???

Yep - if someone wants to force Sydney's hand, they have to pick Mills, then it falls to Sydney to match the bid or let him go. If they match, the original bid gets pushed back one spot.

Pick 3 = Mills
= Sydney match
= Sydney's Pick 33 becomes Pick 3
= Melbourne move to Pick 4
-> Essendon move to Picks 5 + 6
-> Gold Coast move to Pick 7
-> Melbourne move to Pick 8

Etc. etc, etc.

Then you'd get to pick your next preference at Pick 4.
