Fair enough. Don't know if there are any DFA'S that suit our needs at the moment.

Saint have delisted an extra player and depends on if there is a bid on Rice if we take a later pick or if we rookie Ray.

I think we would take Balic before Clarke but as you say we will see.
Saints are hot on Matho, Tucker and Gresham as their first rounder
I personally rate Clarke more than Balic, just my preference as a pure mid.

Mathieson, Tucker, Gresham would me more of the same of what you have.

ESSENDON c/o and thanks to Blugazi

5. Essendon ------- --Darcy Parish

6. Essendon ------- --Charlie Curnow

29. Essendon --------Luke Partington

30. Essendon --------Jesse Glass-McCasker

53. Essendon --------Michael Hartley
Nice draft. Would be rapt with that, the only real question mark of have is whether Glass-McCasker lasts to pick 30.

I'd rather take Francis than Curnow, but without really looking through the other picks, I assume Melbourne took him given we have Parish.

Interesting comment, Glass-McCasker under the radar, overlooked early in phantoms and media. Really
like the little I have seen of him. Did well on Schache and our own SOS in the 2nd VM/WA match.
Personally have him above Collins and B.McKay, maybe Harry too. Thought I was reaching, but maybe
not.

Have had a running battle on another thread with insistence by a couple that we must grab multiple
KPP. 198cm, quick as opposed to Collins at 193. Taking Weitering, drafted Plowman. Jaksch likely to
go forward. Big enough to take the gorillas and free up Weitering. Like many, played a bit forward too.
Is Weitering, Oliver, Gresham? and Glass-McCasker too big a reach?

NORTH MELBOURNE c/o and thanks to Sin City

21. Nth. Melb -------Callum Ah Chee

31. Nth. Melb -------Greg Clark

33. Nth. Melb. ------Daniel Rioli

45. Nth. Melb.-------Steven Tahana

66. Nth. Melb -------Matt Hanson

Don't think Essendon or North will use a 5th pick. I reckon they will rookie upgrade someone with those picks.

We are likely to use 5 picks, if not 6.

We have had Fletcher, Chapman and Winderlich retire. Axed Kavanagh, Browne and Dalgleish, and traded Carlisle, Melksham and Giles. We brought in Leuenberger and Bird. That gives us 7 spots on our list.id say we take 5 picks, use one to upgrade McKernan and take one DFA.

Haha i hope Richmond take Dunkley at 15. Nice waste of a first rounder there. The kid is barely worth a third rounder. Some on our board believe he is only worth a rookie spot. Definitely let the tigers keep him at that pick lol
Well good for you. It takes a brave supporter to go on an another teams board and declare that your clubs recruiting team are complete idiots. Your fellow Swans supporters must be furious with them for trading for so many picks in the 30s and 40s just to pay for a first round bid on Dunkley.

Thanks for being so brave and letting us know. I'm going to have to remember that in the future.
Swans = brainless stupid idiots.

Can't say how much Richmond rates Dunkley but they certainly know him... I have no idea at all but I'd be a little disappointed if they took Dunkley after taking Townsend and Moore, in preference to Ah Chee who seems to be a player type that Richmond currently lacks.
Picked up up an Ah Chee type later on in the draft on the cheap. Besides why do you need Ah Chee if you have Lennon sitting in the twos waiting for an opportunity?

Well done HARKER :)

We'll take Oliver if he's available (he'll go 10 top), or Ah Chee
Dunkley is worth a pick in the 30's, if he lasts to our next pick then sure

Lennon is talented but is not quick, is a good solid mark and has natural goalkicking talent. But he's not a 'brilliant' player (yet), he's not a natural athlete, he's poor defensively and doesn't have the endurance to impact games late, especially with no sub rule. I'd see him as more a leading 3rd marking forward type, if he gets his fitness up (a poor man's Gunston, I hope) one day. Ah Chee as I read it is a bit different to this, a bit quicker, a higher leaper and agile generally - a more Wingard type. Happy to be corrected but I don't see Lennon and Ah Chee (as described) as that similar. Positions for both in the Richmond side eventually, I'd suggest.

Dunkley gets in and under but his disposal is not great, especially by foot, and I think Richmond, like most other sides, have a premium on footskills for the early selections. I just can't see them bid on Dunkley this high.

Yeah Melbourne took him at 3.

i took francis over parish but I think both will be stars. my reasoning was i see some real development to come in francis. he is a big unit who will thrive in the afl system and his kicking & marking are elite. next to petracca jones brayshaw viney tyson he could be the finisher that will make a difference. can also play anywhere. the bigger bodies like fyfe & cripps can make a massive difference to a side. reading some of the drafts at the moment some suggest he could fall to us at 8? i cant believe it, what a steal it would be. weitering francis mckay at 1, 8, 11 would be incredible.

Like that pace and outside class, I'll be surprised if we pick another hb in Tahana, we have too many as it is. Great effort though, better than what l could come up with.
Thanks, I did alright to get three players in my top 20 with the picks I had. If you read over my write ups it'll make the Tahana selection more understandable, outside of Hanson there really isn't many players that can actually play at these picks. There isn't too many players I'd draft outside of my top 20 compared to 30+ most other years.

You seem to have a solid understanding of what we need, which is pace and outside class of the youthful kind. Maybe also a project KPF (for Petrie's end next year) and a mature back up for Goldy.

Actually im pretty sure the club stocked up on picks so we have enough points to match Melbourne when they bid on Mills at 3. It will be a miracle if thay dont. Id rather take a punt on a few late picks than match any bid below 30 for Dunkley.

Thanks for yor concern though :)

This is why I'm surprised that you didn't go after Yarran. Maybe a year or two older than preferred but pace and class to burn and with your history with Indigenous players would have been a better landing spot for him than Richmond in my opinion.

That's why l felt we went for Anderson, plus coming from a successful culture helps. I like Yarran, but coming from our point of view, an expensive mystery.

Sorry for being AWOL, folks! Think there's another GWS academy kid that I'd probably have gone for in there somewhere, but don't think anyone bid on him so no harm no foul.
You where AWOL? When was this?
