Subiaco have signed Brett Robinson from Swan Districts. Robinson was with Swans until the end of 2013 before spending last year playing country football. Swans have since cleared Robinson to the Lions today.

Great get for the Lions. Was a dominant midfielder with Swans in 2009 (favourite for the Sandover that year IIRC) and a key part of there 2010 GF win after coming back from an early season knee injury and getting the LARS surgery done.

- Michael Florio has left the Demons to play amateurs.

- Michael Florio is back at Perth, his decision to play amateurs didn't last long.
- Shaun Hildebrandt from Subiaco has retired.

Is it just me or does there seem an unusually high amount of changes this year? Going through the round 1 teams and there's a lot of largely unfamiliar names.

Has injury forced Hildebrandt to retire? Seems odd otherwise right before Round 1.

Not sure, he was only a 50/50 chance to play this season anyway after winning the flag last season. Seems he's had enough, turns 31 this year as well.

Dean Cadwallader has been suspended for four years after testing positive to a banned substance. Cadwallader was found to have benzoylecgonine in his body which the body produces after ingesting cocaine. The test was done on the day of the 2014 WAFL Grand Final which East Perth lost to Subiaco.

Cadwallader is now ineligible to play football until 28 November, 2018.

What an idiot. Certainly career over now for Cadwallader after he was banned for two years after testing positive to an anabolic steroid in 2010. He was a chance to be drafted last year but was overlooked and apparently cracked the shits, walking out on East Perth in the off-season. Now with this hanging over him his chances of playing any sort of senior football either in the AFL or WAFL are now over.

Surprised this wasn't posted in here...

Subiaco have delisted Simpson medallist Wayde Twomey as they battle to remain under the WAFL’s player points cap.

The move is likely to prompt a WAFL rule change next season to prevent clubs manipulating the points system by adding and removing senior players to avoid breaking the cap.

Full-forward Matt Boland was re-registered this week and selected to play his first league match of the season when the ladder-leading Lions take on second-placed West Perth at HBF Arena today.

Boland played reserves on a permit last week, but his return to the league list would have put Subiaco over the 130-point limit without the removal of another 10-point player.

Twomey, who won a flag with Subiaco last season and was one of WA’s best players in the win over South Australia last month, was delisted on Thursday.

Twomey’s contract has been voided by his delisting and he is now eligible to be recruited by any other WAFL club.
Gee, would kill to have him at Perth.
