I wonder if there's anything to be read into Amon moving to a lower number. Possibly just for convenience sake, but could indicate he's seen as a pretty solid prospect going forward.

There would be less irrational Mitchell hate if we only played him when it was rational to do so.

I agree that he should not be in our best 22. I just think people moaning about number changes are reaching 'old man yells at cloud' territory

Something tells me that Dougal Howard would look great in the Prison Bars next season.

So much irrational Mitchell hate.

Guernsey numbers are the epicentre of irrational thinking. People don't get that it goes on seniority, not based on some feel good story of a young up and comer to wear the number of a former stalwart who they play like.

Is it just me or has #3 been an under-used #. 'Bubbles' Obst was a childhood favourite of mine.
Always remembered his # and am struggling to remember #3's since '97. Is there some reverence to
this # that I don't know about and/or was it retired for a while?
Anyway glad that Jake will be wearing it.
Good to see 'bubbles' at the club on match days.

I'll be updating my record of `which number has the most PAFC games at AFL level' soon.

Byrons Firen - Between Shayne Breuer and Brett Montgomery, #3 was the most worn number at AFL level for a while. Salopek kinda ****ed that record up.

i dont hate mitchell at all. im sure hes a swell guy. i just wish we reserved our lowest numbers for our best players. he clearly isnt one of those.

Kane asked for a lower number so he could find out more about the club's history including who had worn it. When he found that Tim Giniver had worn it he contacted Tim to ask if it was OK for him to wear It ... Tim gave his approval.

Sala started with #31? Injuries hit when he had #3?

The last time an indigenous Australian that we recruited from Essendon wore the number 4, we won the flag. And Gav had his premiership guernsey returned to him this year... :D:cool:

How good does it look on him?
I hope we don't have to wait as long as it took us back then to win another flag

Bomber Clifford was a favourite of my youth.

Bomber Clifford probably would struggle with athleticism in today's AFL and looked at times
as tho he'd pinched a guernsey and jumped the fence. Having said that he was a prodigious
talent. Sometimes I'd shake my head in disbelief at what he could do and chuckle in disbelief
at what he did do. Football wise he had it all (except speed) then again maestros rarely looked rushed (Polec?).
Thanks Portia had forgotten Sala and Shane Breuer was who I could picture but not put a name to.
Steven Salopek's been gone for a while now which was kinda where I was coming from with my post.
Apologes to Brett Montgomery.
