A bit hard to be too critical at this stage but only disappointment would be lack of form of players that have been at the club 3-4 years, not stepping up yet but they still have time and will judge at end of season and highlight been form of the magoos may have another strong line up this year if everyone stays fit.

The Good

  • The over 30s look in great form, Bartel, Kelly and Mackie have turned back the clock
  • Mitch Clark and Hawkins working well together
  • Duncan, Guthrie looked to have gone up a step while Caddy did good work when played in the middle
  • Simpson, Cowan and McIntosh playing in the pre-season
  • Most of our draftee provided highlights for the future

The Bad
  • None of our fringe players stepped up to demand selection, a couple of highlights and 7 disposals should be enough to get you a game at AFL level
  • Simpson only managing 66% game time in NAB3
  • Smedts injured again hope it minor
  • Hartman's homesickness(had him in my round 1 team before the news came out) and Thurlow's injury.

The Ugly
  • Murdoch, Kersten and Horlin-Smith's 3rd game played themselves out of contention for round 1
  • Brown playing well for Essendon, if he showed that form for us last year he'd still be at the club
  • Stanley missing the pre-season games, its hard to see where he fits in our structure with our functional forward line and Blicavs' great form.

  • Brown playing well for Essendon, if he showed that form for us last year he'd still be at the club
Hi Lana, this is like a red rag to a bull.

If he was still on the list, he wouldn't be playing.
The only spot is up forward. They won't play him there.

He'd still be in the 2's. Which is better than 10k a year I guess. But still.

You're right he wouldn't be in our best 22, but I liked Brown and I wish that he made it with us. I guess that became impossible when we recruited Rivers.
He got a lot more involved in games than he ever did for us, his arms look bigger then they did before.
He outplayed Gwilt who Essendon picked up as DFA, If he was on Essendon's list he'd be fighting for a round 1 spot.
I hope he kills it in the VFL this year and someone gives him a second shot next year.

Its what he has to do. Kill it.
"They kind of look up to it" doesn't work when re drafting.
Im probably more disappointed in Schoder.
