Rode the treddly down to Freo Oval this morning and watched a few of the guys out on track. There was quite a small group this morning, perhaps thirty or so. I left early but will give you a brief rundown of what I saw.
Sheridan looks seriously good. Has fantastic athleticism and looks strong through the core. His bullet like stabbing passes captured my attention.
Very excited about Crozier. The same can be said.
At one stage they were split into four groups around the oval. The whistle would blow and each group would run at a very good pace to where the last group was in an anti clockwise direction. Once the players were there they had to get into position for a ruck contest type situation before the whistle blew again and they were instructed to run again to the next contest. They kept this up for a good 15 minutes. It looked incredibly hard work and I was amazed at the guys fitness.
Tabs looks to have bulked up
Clarke was moving freely as was Griff who could really challenge for a regular spot this year.
Skills were fantastic today and anybody that says Clancee can't kick have got their wires crossed.
Was great to meet Coulda today and hopefully he will give a more detailed report, as I had to leave early. Cheers

Is not the way a certain player is performing ie Sylvia part of a training report.
Depends how detailed it is I guess. The mods are capable of deciding if it is or it isn't

It should probably be a case of if you want a general report go to the locked thread, if you want discussion on a specific player come to this thread, but be prepared to wade through some shit

Oh yeah. One more thing. Apparently Sylvia is injured and won't be available until round ten. So maybe that explains the weight? That's all I heard anyway. So news might come out soon

Great idea. Rubbish banter can still continue here, but we can just check the locked thread every few days for an actual update. Mods can decide what constitutes a training report
What happens when people want to ask the training watchers questions about particular players or drills? Leave it the way it is. If you only want to read training reports use the hashtag. It's not rocket surgery.

Isn't that why we had the hashtags?
If you only want the training report proper you look up the hashtag.
We are making the mods work a little too hard if they need to constantly update and maintain a locked thread.

Yeah great idea, now we just need a moderator who is keen to do this...

Cheers simpsonwillo for the report :)
You mind if I ask who are the 8 rucking?
Tbh, I am just curious if Apeness and Tabs is doing some ruck work and how they are going at it
Thanks

I was at training for most of the main session,I agree completely with the above, apart from the fact I was the one who said C.Pearce kicked very badly in two training sessions I had seen as he was constantly kicking too high. I still think he is an excellent kick normally.

The highlight of today was seeing Balla rejoining the main training group. His skills were well off, but it was great to see his energy at training again. If there is a swear jar at Freo it would be pretty full of Ballas money today. Gotta love him.

I have to agree with the above post on Sheridan and Crozier, both look terrific.

Zac Clarke was the highlight for me today as he looks to have overcome his injuries and he looks seriously quick again. Duffy also did some really nice things and received loud praise from the coaching staff.

Tanner struggled matching up in drills today, it will be interesting to see how he goes this year.

For what it is worth I saw Mora coming out of the gym, but still no sign of Johno, Crowley or Sylvia. Does anyone know what is wrong with Crolws?

It was a much better training session today and the players were much sharper and in good voice .
It was good to catch up with John the Gardener , Sherrif and Simpsonwillo .
As stated by the others the standouts today were Clarke ,Clancee , Sheridan but especially Hill and Sutcliffe .
The players were in high spirits and Danyle Pearce was TRYING to SING before going out onto the oval and everyone gave him heaps .
He is definitely NOT a wedding singer so reject all offers if he asks for the microphone .

RTB was blowing the whistle as loud as ever and his eyes were everywhere ,nowhere to hide when RTB is conduction training .

I spoke to a couple of the assistants about Sylvia and he has re injured the same ankle that was operated on hence the lack of pace and extra weight gained .
At this stage he is not expected to be up to full fitness until round 10 of this season . The assistants said it was a devastating blow to him since he has had high expectations of being available to play from round 1 .

Johnson and Morabito are being managed in their preparation for the coming season .
Morabito had an issue of swelling in the knee after games so the medicos are being cautious about his work load .
The assistants also confirmed that the training behind closed doors has been the heaviest they have ever witnessed at Fremantle with the emphasis being on aerobics and endurance under stress .
The other information I was able to get was that Mcpharlin's calf injury is fixed . He is running as good as ever .
The injury to the calf was miss diagnosed and he was not receiving the correct treatment hence the constant problems with it over the last 2 seasons .
The specialist that he saw over the off season has found that something else was wrong and that was causing the calf to tighten and tear . Not being a doctor or medical student I have no idea what the terminology is but I'm sure someone on the board will .
The list of injured players is a very short one so competition for spots is heating up .

It was reported last year as a tendon problem which went undiagnosed.

Thank you Couda. Very glad to hear that Morra is being managed, not nobbled. Extra super happy to hear Elvis has entered the building once more. :D

I am thinking if Luke goes well this year he may go on in 2016.
He basically missed the entire year last season so if we consider age in terms of games played, it isn't unrealistic to hope there's two more seasons left in him.

I know I'll be howled down by some on here but I dont buy Silvia's added weight to an injury problem.
Walters spent most of last season with an ankle in a moon boot and stayed super fit.
Yeah very early to speculate, but I have a feeling he won't be on our list next year, nor will he play at all for us this year.

Nice, easy to read report coulda :thumbsu:

Not to melt down or anything but if that's true regarding Sylvia we can't expect him to contribute next season, an interrupted pre-season is one thing but an injury that won't allow him to hit full fitness until halfway through the year would mean a write-off.

Just on Luke, can't say I've ever had that much faith in our medical staff but how do you misdiagnose a calf injury
