Springwood are far more capable of turning it on come finals time than Kenmore.
Friday nights hit out Pumas v Devils will hopefully give us something interesting to talk about over the weekend.
based on their last meeting and the results from recent weeks might be a bit one sided to the Pumas.

Should be a ripping game on Saturday with the Pumas and kings meeting out at Lowe oval - would think these guys will meet again at least once in the next couple of weeks. Be interesting to see if a few cards are held close to the chest or not

Congrats to Alex getting another win in the ones.

I'm a bit Like everyone else and look forward to seeing the result of the Kings vs Pumas game. Wish I could head out there to watch it.
Think the Pumas will get the job done. They look like they are hitting their straps at the right time of year. Must of been very impressive to demolish a side like Yeronga on the weekend.

Yeronga have only beaten the bottom four teams consistently . Beat Kenmore early in year before Kenmore hit their straps. One game each with Burliegh the last one lost at home was a terrible game. Two easy wins for Springwood over Yeronga, the last being a walk in the park with no challenge at all, Yeronga's best game was a draw against the undefeated Kings. Didn't see that match so not sure what if anything was different.

Hope they can put a better game in for end of year against Kings again. I think that game will be an indicator of Yeronga's final chances.

Top 5 raz to answer your question.

Whilst I agree kings and Springwood deserve to be favourites to play in the gf once it's gets into finals we are only 1 wet day away from completely equalising all clubs.

Springwood had their only loss in the rain last year, and yeronga got knocked out in an elimination final most expected on form for them to win in the rain.

Qld always seems to through up one putrid week of weather during late August / early sept - almost as predictable as rain during the old Indy car weekend in October!

Top 5 hey .
Coorparoo Week off.

2 versus 3
Springwood to beat Kenmore

4 versus 5
Burleigh to beat Yeronga.

Lenny my understand from previous years is that any neutral club can tender for the grand final - there is then a criteria such as quality of ground, warm up facilities, spectator vantage points, secure fencing, 4 sets of change rooms, canteen and bar facilities that comes into it.

Would assume that with kings and Pumas likely to fancy themselves getting through would only leave yeronga from this div that would put in for it.
Clubs from above div like magpies and Wilson grange could put in for it but would think aflq would want it played at their home deck if they could.

ta, i assumed they played it at the "best" ground possible - and figured coorparoo was top of the pecking order the last couple of years

Magpies can't charge a gate and their field is in terrible nick.

Grange will be in the QAFL finals up their eyeballs, so probably wouldn't bother.

Yeah 2013 was at yeronga and last year at coorparoo.

Would suggest yeronga in box seat unless they got to prelim. Not sure where would be played then.
Ahh I was referring to the old PHC when talking about the last couple of GFs, so your comment makes sense

All good. Make sure your twos do the right thing this week :D

Haha Lenny I think your boys fate is in your own hands! Kings won't be a walk over in the twos that's for sure!

Looks like your starting to get guys back judging from team lists.

yeah we win our two games we'll be ok, but if you guys win saturday it makes the last round game the only decider - so the result this weekend becomes irrelevant

should be a couple of ripping games out our way this week, one of the few times in the last couple of months i've really felt the "retirement" pangs

Hope everything's ok at Coomera. Only 13 named in the twos last night and tonight I notice, their twos team list has been removed from sporting pulse -- sounds like numbers are a huge problem and I'd hate to see them have to forfeit, especially given the improvement shown in both grades this year

Good to see Coomera able to field a team.
Looks like a ripping game at Springwood Lenny judging from live score chart. Result aside, a grand final that close would be a great game.

Yeronga may have a very different field once the covers are lifted from the ground. Was in the area and did a drive by today. Looked like they are in the process of installing a picket fence. That should be very pleasant.

Yeah Boc, Coomera had to use a handful of Burleigh boys to fill in so well done to their guys. Never found myself in that situation in my playing days. Reckon it would be pretty awkward and akin to dancing with your sister

Yeah we managed to get a side on the park helped largely to a patient and understanding Burleigh, old boys, injured blokes (like myself) and a couple of seniors.

Unfortunately we've been hit hard by injuries this year and that coupled with poorly timed trips away and what I like to call a couple of cases of "Burleigh Belly" meant we were up against it. Seems a few suffered it that also suffer from "Springwood Groin" and "Coorparoo Cough"

In saying that we got 2 teams out there and the Ressies game particularly was played in good spirits and I couldn't thank the bombers enough for that.

In regards to the future we have a strong juniors club we are hoping to finally see some good numbers from but that is going to depend on whether QAFL throw an u19s age group at us which could really hurt. Myself and a few of the regulars are retiring this week so we really need those juniors to be stepping up to Ressies.

We've been more competitive in the seniors this year which is always our focus so we are happy with that, but we certainly want to improve our Ressies presence and keep developing good kids.

Good spirits and Burleigh don't go in the same sentence do they? Haha

All jokes aside swoopa can completely sympathise with you blokes - we have had a tougher yeah then we would have liked as well but that's football.

Think the comp is in decent shape in both grades - probably illustrated by the fact Forster looks set to win the league goal kicking in the 2's in a team that's going to finish well out of finals contention.

Lenny your 2s with plenty to play for this week!

I think yesterday showed the Kings don't quite have there name engraved on the cup just yet!
