Just gave Steven a wrap in the midfielders thread, 88 from 33 possies is very disappointing. 54% DE, maybe he really is a risk vs reward sort of player.

Maybe better suited to AFL fantasy. The one thing I guess you could take from it, is it seems he is moving well. Half of last year he seemed to lack confidence in his leg after the break. Doesn't seem to be worrying him any more.
Just needs to fix his DE, no point getting 33 touches when half of them dont count.
Lets be honest, Hawthorn will win at least 15 games, most of those will be by 5-6 goals at worst. Ive had these guys for a couple of weeks but I'll be locking in Gibson and Newnes after tonight.Every senior Hawk had a great game today, gotta be a bit cautious in picking up some of these players as a result of a dominant game.
He is good value. There is no Sewell to compete with in terms of inside contested ball, really there is only Liam Shiels and Langford to compete with in that regard but they don't spend the same amount of time in the coalface as Lewis does. The only query is how much time Mitchell spends in the midfield.Jordan Lewis will be in the top 5 midfielders for the year.
Is a lock in my team and a great pod and captain option.

The way I see it, opposition teams like to keep Gibson accountable in the air, and Birchall accountable on the rebound due to his pace. With two quality talls in Lake and Frawley I think this favors Gibson as he is an underated rebounder. How will Birchall returning effect Gibson though? He's had a good NAB being that extra defender but there's no way he will get as much freedom in the real stuff.
Also last year he had a few 120 games but the thing that has turned me off him is he had about 5-6 games where he scored 50-60. Lake won't play a full season and Frawley is yet to prove himself. One injury and he's stuck as a KPD dishing out 50's
So did Webster's last year.
Just saying.
Maybe. Not a lot of accountability in the NAB, especially from a side that's up by a lot. Hawks didn't seem to give a rats about him and let him run free.Webster was a back flanker wasn't he? Newnes is playing in the middle, scoring a ton in a 100 point loss is a good sign.
SAM Mitchell???
If that's who you mean you had better re-check his stats. He's averaged 100+ in 8 of the past 10 years and 98.9 in another. He's also averaged 110+ in 3 of those years.
I think Mitchell, Hodge and Burgoyne go ok with contested ball as well, no?He is good value. Either way the Hawks early season draw looks good, it might pay to put a few of them in your team.
I think Mitchell, Hodge and Burgoyne go ok with contested ball as well, no?
Absolutely, but their midfield time has been managed for the past couple of years and their roles have changes a bit with Mitchell and Hodge spending more time down back. Burgoyne tends to float forward and back and only really seems to go to the midfield when Hawthorn are in trouble on the scoreboard and need some quick clearances, which ain't that often.I think Mitchell, Hodge and Burgoyne go ok with contested ball as well, no?
Absolutely! Has gone to another level. After bye round target. With Sewell out I think Lewis has flourished as the go to inside mid and I think he can maintain that 110 odd average this year, he has to be considered if not for Round 1 then as an upgrade target.
