Think the amount is being inflated a tad.
Swans would have Never given him 600k a season

Is that how the COLA works? 9.8% of the players contracted payment? If so it really is a disgrace. The extra cost of living in Sydney isn't $98,000 for a player on a million dollar contract and just $9,800 for a player on a $100,000 contract. Every player should receive a fixed percentage of the basic player payment ... the same amount for each player. Otherwise it's wide open to be rorted.AFAIK he's on $400k + the 9.8% bonus.
For any future contracts signed between this year and 2016, it will be $10,000 extra earnings for players under $300,000, and nothing for contracts over $300,000. After that a contract won't mean any extra money for a Swans/Giants player compared to anyone else in the comp.Is that how the COLA works? 9.8% of the players contracted payment? Ignore his price at the end of the season. Prices are re-adjusted at the start of the following season based on the whole season averages. Crouch will probably start next season somewhere around the 500k mark.Brad Crouch is expected to be around $550k by seasons end, how much injury discount are we talking here?
Closer to $522KCrouch will probably start next season somewhere around the 500k mark.
Now now let's not get technical. $517 453.99Closer to $522K![]()

Beams a different kettle of fish. Going into 2014, Beams:
1. Had played 91 games.
2. Was aged 24.
3. Was entering his sixth season of AFL.
4. Had broken out in 2012, averaging 122.9 (super premo).
5. Had averaged 102.4 over seven games in 2013 and had a significant injury discount.
By comparison, Crouch will have played ~25 games, will be aged 21, will be entering his third season, will have never been a super premo, and will not have his price discounted for injury.
Not saying he will be a bad pick, he's just not in the same league as Beams 2014 at $497.2K.
Walters also worth a look pending on price should get injury discount.
Ryder could be a good starting forward if he gets forward status.Means you can get a cheap kruzer as R2 ryder as ruck cover one way to go.
