Well, I heard it on ABC Grandstand if that means anything. Can't remember which commentator said 600k. But they definitely said he was on 'around 600k for this season'. Could be heavily front loaded for all we know though.

Is that how the COLA works? 9.8% of the players contracted payment? If so it really is a disgrace. The extra cost of living in Sydney isn't $98,000 for a player on a million dollar contract and just $9,800 for a player on a $100,000 contract. Every player should receive a fixed percentage of the basic player payment ... the same amount for each player. Otherwise it's wide open to be rorted.

Been watching big Tex should be good value forward pickup,he'll prob take pavs spot in my forward line.
With forwards really depends on new DPP players (if any).

For any future contracts signed between this year and 2016, it will be $10,000 extra earnings for players under $300,000, and nothing for contracts over $300,000. After that a contract won't mean any extra money for a Swans/Giants player compared to anyone else in the comp.

FWIW I don't agree with how the COLA is currently set out. But meh.

Ignore his price at the end of the season. Prices are re-adjusted at the start of the following season based on the whole season averages. Crouch will probably start next season somewhere around the 500k mark.

1. Had played 91 games.
2. Was aged 24.
3. Was entering his sixth season of AFL.
4. Had broken out in 2012, averaging 122.9 (super premo).
5. Had averaged 102.4 over seven games in 2013 and had a significant injury discount.

By comparison, Crouch will have played ~25 games, will be aged 21, will be entering his third season, will have never been a super premo, and will not have his price discounted for injury.

Not saying he will be a bad pick, he's just not in the same league as Beams 2014 at $497.2K.
