Tom Mitchell (Syd) has agreed to a 3 year deal worth $2.15 Million offered by Carlton which will be signed after the end of the AFL season.Still has 2 years to run with swans iirc
That is not how trades work at all. Carlton can't just 'give' Sydney 800k.Tom Mitchell (Syd) has agreed to a 3 year deal worth $2.15 Million offered by Carlton which will be signed after the end of the AFL season.
$800,000 of that $2.15 Million will go to the Swans who have him signed until the end of 2016 on $400,000 a year whilst Mitchell will join the Blues on $450,000 a year over 3 years.
Mitchell hasn't been able to break into the Swans since Round 4 despite making headlines earlier this year after racking up 64 touches and kicking 4 goals in the NEAFL.
His father Barry, played 38 games for the Blues between 1994-96

Almost ever romour on facebook is complete bullshit.
Some of his wages, not 800k worth.Carlton can agree to pay some of the wages associated for tom as part of the swans salary cap i beleive.
Would be a good get for the blues if they can get it done.
Wonder if Warnock is on the move?

That would be like paying a transfer fee which we haven't had here for many decades. The swans would "save" 800k over the next 2 years if they agree to let him out of his current contract though. Swans would most likely demand a sweetener to make the trade happen, like an early draft pick and/or an established player. Hopefully that player is Warnock.
They could almost have Knockers for free
Warnock and our 2nd round pick perhaps?
For Tom Mitchell? - where do i sign?
I've heard that at least a 2nd rounder is committed as part of trade for Jaksh.
We may be getting WCE 2nd rounder for Garlett though.
I've also heard Kerridge and 3rd for Robbo.
may work out like this:
We start with 5,23,41
Pick 27 from WCE for Garlett.
Kerridge and pick 50 from Adelade for Robbo
Ontrade 27 to GWS for Jaksh
Mitchell from Sydney for 23 & Knockers
We end up with picks 5,41,50, Mitchell, Kerridge & Jaksh.
Lose Garlett, warnock and Robbo
Pick 5 could be dangled in front of GWS for Boyd if he is keen or draft best available.
Lot of things to fall into place for it to happen but it will address needs and go some way to repairing age cohorts on the lsit in that 20-23 age bracket.
ZERO...like minus 10 million chances that GWS will let Boyd go for pick 5
Mitchell would definatly cost a first pick.Warnock and our 2nd round pick perhaps?

I wouldn't be so sure. Until Patton's acl some credible sources were suggesting it was on the cards with a mature player, say Andrew Walker.
I don't know if you are aware that Boyd was a CFC member prior to being drafted as is his entire extended family.
Same goes for Treloar and Sheil.
You are deceiving yourself if you think clubs ultimately determine where a player ends up. More often than not if someone wants to get to a prticular outfit, they get there. This counts double with an interstate move.
Last year we picked up Docherty for peanuts as did Port with Polec.
Boyd is out of contract at the end of 2015, if he requests a trade to Carlton GWS may take pick 5 as being below market value but about what they'd get at the end of next year.
Not saying it will happen but it has more chance of occurring than you've stated.
Zero chance IMHO.
2015 who knows as that is a mile away.
GWS are more likely to trade Patton than Boyd. Boyd is there future.
Polec and Docherty not even in the same ocean (perceived value wise) as Boyd
Walker nearly went to Adelaide and he was okay with that potential move. However he is very settled as a "life" blue now
Not if Docherty is a mid only next year. Both ex brissy boys Yeo and Doc worth a look at mid prices next season imo.
Yeah hes been playing a few different roles seen him named on a forward flank a few times. If a mid only hes goes into the neverland. Not if Docherty is a mid only next year.
