I'd be very against a change like that. I think a SC team is a well planned year long thing. It rewards those who do their research and trade well. To pick up someone like Goddard half way through the year at a bargain price and a POD in the mids and then have every man and his dog pick him up 4 weeks later in defence would shit me no end.
so much this

positional/dpp changes during the season is a terrible idea. would be a game breaker for me.

First of all, tough luck. I'm sure you could pick up a different DPP player, so swings and roundabouts. And if Goddard was going that well, people would start picking him up in mids too.

Second of all, you still get the points Goddard scored for you while the other teams didn't have him.

If u wanna play dt or fantasy stick with it.
Sc appeals as it doesn't have this sorta changing environment crap

Imho

No, tough tities to you, we're all sure you could pick another game to play with a nuffies skill set, swings and same old same old. Maybe this games not for you?

Settle down bro, the thread is about proposed changes. Admittedly "tough luck" was poor choice of words, but the point stands. You would lose on one player, probably win on another.

Its all good:):thumbsu: Glad your cooling the jets.

There are already fantasy games that change DPPs. No point in changing the most successful game out there so that it conforms with less popular ones. SC is popular because it's a challenge and not handed to you on a plate. It's the very reason the game is a shitload harder to be consistently good at, unlikely other games where you can not log in for 8 weeks and still be doing well.

toxic and Gingy will attest to this with their RDT's this year.

Once finals start, unlimited amount of trades you have remaining.

ie: go into finals with 6 trades, cluster fu*k of injuries like this year and 5 dounuts, can do 5 trades if you want. just ridiculous that you manage you list all year, then come finals your team gets deciamted and you have trades you cant use.

I don't mind that proposed change at all, probably even more so than what I originally posted.

The owners and administrators of SuperCoach need to recognise that for a number of people, the number one reason they play is to try and win their league, and there is often large sums of cash/prizes on the line. A simple change like you've proposed above caters to those who play for the league win and allows the team that best manages their trades to have the best chance of winning, rather than it often coming down to luck with who is named and who isn't.

probably the first proposed change i have looked at and thought YEP - that's got some merit

Yep, it's been a really tough SC year for me. Am struggling just to hang on to a top 10k finish after being a top 1k team for the first half of the year. I get to finish the season off with no bench players and 2 midfield doughnuts. My worst SC season ever. Lot's of hard lessons learned. Bring on 2015 I say.

PS I'm going to finish top 1k in RDT, but that's no better really, as there are like only 20k teams playing that game.

Really need to broaden the horizons in regards to point scoring. Give scores for 1 percenters, running bounces, and change up slightly how much each possession is worth points wise. Purely just to bring more players into relevancy for Supercoach. Currently the aim is to pick 30 midfielders, or as close to it as possible. Too many teams end up being too similar.
In the Football fantasy comp of the English Premier League players scores are graded on the specific position that they play in!
A lot more in depth study into individual scoring from positions could be a good thinking point?
I'm still lovin' SC! Gave RDT the flick last year!
The way that the game is going though, is that it is too risky to select KPPs!
It tends to be mids and back/mids and fwd/mids all the way!

get rid of the double standards

HATE hoping players don't play the last 1 or 2 games and score to much and are to expensive the following season

Wouldn't unlimited trades mean you can completely overhaul your team?

know it wont happen, but would like to see more divisions than just Defenders Midfield Forwards Rucks

I like the idea of this. It would bring Tall Defs & Forwards as well as small Defs & Fwds into the game

Defensive line: Def, Def, Def (No D/M's on this line. Only KP defs and Def only players) Bench: Def's only
Half back Line: D/M, D/M, D/M (def/mids) Bench: D/M's only

Half Forward line: M/F, M/F, M/F (M/F's only) Bench: M/F's only
Forwards: Fwd, Fwd, Fwd (No M/F's on this line. Forwards & Ruck/Forwards only) Bench: Fwds & R/F's only

Hmmm don't mind that- you would need more DPPs though

You'd want to have 2-3 DPP's D/M & M/F's in the midfield and probably 1 or 2 R/F's in the rucks & forwards if there are any available. Too many DPP's in our teams this year. I have like 14 D/M-M/F's in my team.

You would need more trades for injuries too wouldn't you?

Why? The 3 Def only players would have 1 bench player to cover them. Same for the Fwd 3. You could have a R/F as a Fwd emergency linked to someone on the ruck bench. All it means is that the bench player on every line becomes crucial as far as JS goes at least.

That makes sense. I wouldn't be bothered if they went that way.

Good idea MrG.
The bench could be a issue you need a f and m/f on your forward bench.
