Apparently you need a Herald Sun+ subscription? Pretty confusing stuff tbh

They've specifically allocated 32,768 spots between the 5 subscription options so you'd think they'd have it covered.

My assumption was that they chose 32,768 to get down to 2 competitors left at the end, but I would be surprised if they had enough teams playing supercoach that qualify for SC cup to fill all the spots. 15% of teams would be subscribers?

Yes. Logic says that they have their quota otherwise the comp would've started later on with a smaller number to get to final 2 by seasons end.

A lot of people still have the newspaper deliver to their homes.

Is it only HS? I thought foxtel was part of a subscription.

I can’t see there being 32,768 people with subscriptions. If it allowed SC gold I could see that but I cant imagine there are that many digital newspaper subscriptions

I agree, but as a few others have mentioned, the herald sun would have had the exact figures in front of them at the time of announcing the competition. If they weren't basically certain they would have 32,768 subscribers by now they would have started the cup next week with 16,384 competitors

It's not just digital subscriptions, it's paper delivery as well.

I have the HS digital subscription, which includes weekend paper delivery.
Still no fixture for me.

It should be up though. This is printed on the bottom of the SC Cup page:

"Keep an eye on this page at the completion of Round 5 to see if your team qualified, and for your first Round 6 head-to-head SuperCoach Cup fixture."

Probably having an issue with it. Perhaps there were not as many subscribers playing as projected.

This is a piss poor gimmick to get people to subscribe to their content, if it were properly advertised maybe a few more suckers would've signed up. Seems a paid privilege to be a part of the SC Cup.

**** me what an easy competition this year, the poster above is ranked 4000 and has a bye, he would be playing against a 28k side if it was Dreamteam where the best teams played against one another, not the best teams who subscribed to their services.

News Limited has no subscribers then hehehehehe.......... fail........

Hey guys did anyone not get into the SuperCoach cup but thought they would? I'm a gold subscriber but realised you needed to have a digital which I subscribed to ealier in the week. I'm within the top 32k and ranked 20k for round 5 weekly. I thought they were going to play exactly 16k vs 16k without ppl having a bye round one? Surely I shouldve gotten in
