there are 3 in the names you've listed who will average more than Burn imho

Birch
MJ
Bob Murph

Cat Kelly, nope
Duffman - the pain of the rollercoaster of Ross
Harry Taylor no
Speaking of Captains and doing funny things. I have a really strong feeling that Bob Muprh will have a huge year as the Bullies captain. I haven't picked him yet, however he is on my radar.

I don't think I've seen Heater in many teams, he's a lock I reckon. I can't see more than a handfull of defenders with the ability to ave 100+, and Shaw has that.

He's average over the last 9 seasons is 97, bloke's a stud. Patful coming in will help him heaps.
Heater has been the only lock in my defence since version1. GWS will be much improved as a team this year which should benefit Heaters SC output IMHO. Wouldn't be surprised if he averages 100 again or very close to it.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't the #1 averaging defender this season. Games missed is always an issue with him, though.

We are going to be alot more attacking this year, like Port, just go go go. And Murph is the bloke we will want to have the ball. Unlike Enright and co, no way Bob will get rested either. I reckon he should be around the 90 mark, which is good for a defender this year.

I have Shaw, Johnson, Fisher and Adcock/Murphy in defense, feel like it's 2007! #DadsArmy

Shaws also reknown for missing games in a row due to his back and other things.

Enright is royalty mate, I can't see Scott resting him when the Catters will be wanting to win every game! Cats should be fighting for3-7 position so only time he'll rest is if he is injured and/or they are comfortably in the 4 and have irrelevant games. Enright a lock for me with the quality of this years defenders being low.

Scott is a dog, he shafted Chapman and I'm sure he'll have no issue shafting Enright when he has to. He'll probably shaft James Kelly out of the team, too.

Again, you're referencing last season, last season is dead, forget about it!
Hard to forget when you've been mentally scarred from all those hack like performances towards the latter half of the season from your so called premos.

Having said all that I am giving Swan another chance. Surely he can't get any worse! LOL!

You're playing the game this season not last season, different year, different circumstances. Hibberd was shit for me too last season (went for him after the byes instead of Hanley) yet there is no way I am not going to pick him this year as he presents some serious value.

Oh god no.... I am not going Swan this year. Not at all. If I do get it wrong, I will be more than happy to spend the extra 100k and pick him up later, however it is not worth the risk early with so many amazing options up forward.

Why do you think Hibberd is serious value this year for mate?

Because he is priced at 91ppg and when fully fit, is at least a 95 ppg player. Was hampered somewhat in the second half of last season which slowed down his scoring, consistently scores at least in the 80s and usually in the 90s most weeks with the ability to score multiple 100+ games consecutively meaning unless he cops an injury or plays an out of the ordinary shocker, will remain fairly consistently priced (ie: not suffering a massive price drop due to a crap score), unlike a player like Simpson or B.Smith who can put in shockers (30 and 40 point games) meaning they can drop in price markedly throughout the season.

I would not be picking Hibberd even if this ASADA crap wasn't occurring. I do not rate him at all. He is at best a 90ppg player and there is better options with better hamstrings. His will go twang yet again at some point this year and he will miss a couple at least.

How is he at best a 90 ppg player when he has averaged 95.9 and 91.4 in the past two seasons respectively? 11 out of his 18 games last season were 90+ games. He played a full season in 2013, 13 out of 22 games were 90+ with the majority of the remaining 9 80+ games. I don't think you will find that consistency in scoring from any of the other defenders available this season.

So really what you just said is he has had one year at 95, which was ahead of his previous 2 seasons at 75, then he dropped back down again to low 90? There are far better options in the backs than him. He will never give you a massive score ever. He is just your average footballer who gets a little bit of the ball, but will never be a star.
