Get the feeling Hodge will roam around now with Chip in the back
It might give him a chance to spend more time in the middle even, with Gibbo getting a chance to roam a bit. I'm always a little wary of Hodge, he always misses a few games here and there, especially towards the back end of the year when you have SC finals and stuff

More of a chance of not going so well. It's more of an inconsistency thing anyway. Poor choice of words

Gibdon is the absolute perfect sc role.

frawley and lake on the talls
stratton as the 3rd lockdown def
birch has proven he cannot handle a tag.

Fwiw I think gibson will average close to 100 and be a top 5 defender.

"...while he confirmed Lake could be rested at times during the season."

I'm still very wary about Gibson. I expect when one of Frawley or Lake doesn't play he'll average 75-80 per week as his history suggests. Even when they do play Birchall, Hodge (and others) might be just as likely as Gibbo to take the Supercoach friendly roles in defence.

Sure as eggs he'll cost less than $497k at some stage in the year after a few successive 50s or 60s. Jump on then if you must.

He did look good in that game and he could well be. He will be inconsistent though, especially if chip or Lake get injured

That seems to be the common theme in ppl not picking Hodge.
If he misses a couple games late in the year you should have adequate coverage by then so it shouldn't be an issue really.

Having said that I'm still debating Gibson v Hodge purely on better performer and nothing else.
Ever so slightly on Hodgey atm.

Hawks close to full strength tom night and I'd imagine players will be in their designated roles. Interested to see how these two lineup.

I don't reckon Birch will cop much attention this year. With the younger mids starting to come through, it will mean a Hodge Burgoyne or Mitchell will spend time down back in creating roles. They will cop the attention more often meaning Birch will do his thing and be a more consistent SC scorer this year. Hoping that's the case anyway

Who are your Premos mate and what price are you basing the Premo price on with the defenders?
Just my opinion based on this years SC Player Structures.

DEF - (3/2/3)
Premo upwards of $480k - Simpson, Burgoyne, Shaw
Middle $250-$480k - KK, Ibbotson
Rookie $100-$250k - Brown, Goddard, Saad

MID - (3/2//0/6) Harder to categorise as includes players I think will be elite by years end, if aren't already. I have 4 categories.
Premo upwards of $600k - Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield
About to be elite @ $500-$600k - Prestia, Treloar (May still get Crouch for one and bank extra cash).
Middle $250k-$500k - None
Rookie $100-$250k - Cockatoo, Anderson, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolman, Lambert, Steele

RUCK - (2/1 DPP Cover)
Premo $470k-$650k - Maric, NicNat (Fallen premo) - Realistically premo ruckmen are $520k+ but have included NN as one.
Rookie $100-$200k) - T.Read (DPP)

FWD - (3/0/5)
Premo $450k-$600k - Gray, Martin, Swan (Fallen Premo) - Could certainly count Swan as mid-priced if you want
Middle $250k-$450k - None
Rookie $100k-$250k - Salem, Clark, Hogan, Lonie, Krakouer

There it is haha...
