Is it fanciful that we pick up Bennel for a second rounder, place him instantly of probation (I'm sure we can come up with something not to piss off the players union) and play him at East Perth until we make sure his in the right head space.

With Woosha now at the Bombers i wonder if he will target one of Lycett or Sinclair? They are looking for a ruckman and if they do not get Luey i can see them trying for one of ours.
Can you just imagine the typical Essendon offer:

"You give us Sinclair and your second rounder for our fourth round pick."

Watched quite a few Brisbane games over the last couple years. Redden's one of those guys you dont notice to much during the game because he does all the dirty work.
True, though if you focus on setups and stoppages you'll find that he's clean and strong over the ball, can ride a tackle and even has an extra gear. So much of what the Hawks did right on the weekend was just methodical, simple stoppage work. Smart hardball gets and overlap into space. Redden has the tools to slot right into Simpson's system I reckon.

We could trade McGinnity to Woosh for their first pick.

No doubt we floated the idea of an incentive based offer, but why would he take that when there'd definitely been offers from other clubs with no strings attached?

totally agree. but you can just tell duggan's going to be a gun player, having him leave because he's starved of opportunities would be heartbreaking.
I wouldn't worry about that, it's pretty obvious he's a jet, the club seems to recognise that and I reckon he will get plenty of opportunity. Having the depth means we can ease him in rather than force the issue too quickly.

Trading future draft picks doe
The capacity to trade future picks means recruiting teams are going to earn their money even more than they did in the past. Trying to determine what a current player is worth V future picks will make for interesting analysis.

Get it wrong and you can trade away your future. Get it right and keep the window open.

I would be happy to onforward first round comp to Sydney (Selwood) for jetta, Package Mitch Brown and second round for Redden and keep our first round.

I would then use our first and third round to Richmond for Yarran and their second round which we could then keep and use on best available KPP.
Mitch Brown wanted to go home to Victoria a few years back but we refused to trade him. Now that he's settled and his missus has a sporting career of her own tying her to WA, we trade him to Qld? Dog act on our part if we offer him up for trade against his wishes. Don't see it happening.

Yarran is a Carlton player, not sure they'll appreciate us offering Richmond compensation for a Carlton player

Cameron loves Adelaide unfortunately as we need a player like him. Hopefully Newman develops. Ah Chee would be awesome.

Bad form by Nisbett on talent alone he could easily be in the best 3 players in the comp. Why not due diligence and find out what the real story is. Let's for instance say that we have it on good authority that he's a massive coke head, what's the harm in finding out???
