Probably been discussed here but saw in another trade thread that Rich looks disinterested and it was suggested he may do better in a winning team.

Worth us looking into?

I don't think i'd give up our first and Brisbane need talls which we can't really give up currently.....

McInnes and our second for Rich.
Lycett straight swap for Bennell
Our first rounder for Coniglio.

Done. Next season please.
Bam, there goes all of our key position depth.

Haha.

Would love to get your thoughts on another Albany product (same junior club maybe?) who also faced some question marks on his fitness early in his career. Have you followed the Gov's progress?
Same town, two years younger and different junior clubs. He was at North albany Brenden at royals.

If I remember correctly governor was rookie listed, developing slowly and even needed a kick in the rear end after coming back in terrible shape. Top bloke, all the potential just ?'s over fitness and desire to commit. Look at him now, need I say more?

McInnes, Colledge, both 1st and 2nd rounders for both Bennell and Yarran.

Probably need a third club to get the deal done.

We would have to use our First Rounder for Rich - he's not worth it. 2nd and player maybe. He's coming off a knee reco and has never really had a super season other than his first year. Tad overrated for his actual output?

Also was on the rookie list for two/three years before getting a game or at least establishing himself
Bingo. Three years on the rookie list without getting a senior game. Struggled to even make Claremont's league side his first season. Just shows the folly of writing off players 10 minutes into their career.

Id rather keep all of those picks and players to be honest. Im not all that interested in anyone thats been bandied about, except maybe Coniglio. There are good players in the 1st and 2nd rounds apparently, then it starts to fall away dramatically. I would rather we use our first, second and the Selwood compo (if he leaves). If we trade players to upgrade our position in the draft and secure more picks in those rounds then im cool with that too.

Rich relies too much on his team mates to win the ball for him. If their midfield is getting beaten, he is rarely spotted.

I'm going to pose you a question. Compare the 2003 draft and the 2008,10,14 drafts. Would you rather pick 15 and 33 in the 03 draft and no trades or say trading 15 and 33 and getting coniglio and using pick 51, 69 and upgrading a rookie.

Compare the same deal but using the potential prospects around in the 2008,2010,14 drafts. In situation 1 i would take coniglio and the prospect picks every day of the week. If it was option 2 we were looking at i'd be running to the draft. To me lit looks like we're looking at this being an option 1 not an option 2 draft.

A quality known player is worth so many times more than a late first and late second rounder. Coniglio will be a top 10 player on our list in years to come if we were to secure him or someone of similar quality. Potentially top 5 on our list. If you were to go to arguably the worst draft in the past decade and pull out a player who's in your top 5 players you would be stoked. People need to stop overrating draft picks.

Boring
Coniglio is a must. Pretty much a new draft pick minus the 3 years development

Will no doubt get shot down for this but what about Dale Thomas? Carlton are probably willing to cut their losses and he could come fairly cheap. He might be willing to take a pay cut for a three year deal and the chance to play for a team that could challenge for flags.

The Dale Thomas of Collingwood days, cutting us open every time we'd play them are over.

He is a shadow of his former self and with his injuries I can't see that turning around. Wouldn't even take him if he was free.
