How was Tom Browne talking to Coniglio's parents if he is a Melbourne based journo?
Did he just call them up or something?

I wish... we'd have to give them a pick too.Selwood straight swap for Mitch Duncan?

Now here's a guy who add's something to our side.I wish... we'd have to give them a pick too.
In effect that would be trading McGinnity for Mitch Duncan.I think if we asked to trade Selwood for Duncan the conversation would go like this:
Cats: but we can just pick up Selwood for free as a free agent
WC: not if we match your offer
Cats: but if you match the offer you won't get compo, and any trade offer we could come up with would be less than the compo you would receive.
WC: what about if we chucked in McGinnity?
Cats: Get out.
I agree. Our midfield actually doesn't look too bad now and has a bit of depth coming through. Shuey, Yeo, Gaff, Sheed, Duggan look to be stepping up. We still have Waterman and Cavka to debut next year along with any draftees we pick up.Why do we need to trade at all.
We actually have a perfectly balanced list age and position wise.
If we continue to build through the draft we could be very strong for a long time.
Trading should only be done to fill holes and we presently do not have too many holes to fill.

Oh godSelwood straight swap for Mitch Duncan?
Pretty sure I've read some rumour (BF rumour) that Steven Motlop is a chance to be poached to WC. Bloke is 24, and has that outside speed and kicking class, plus seems to be that 2 way runner. I would take him over Jetta and Bennell easily, but he will definitely cost more, possibly more then our 1st rounder.
Coming out of contract at the end of this season and Geelong are giving him space to weigh up his future.

If he is out of contract a first round pick should be enough.
Why don't we just get him and let him start in the wafl. Prove himself there and if he's attitude and professionalism are up to scratch, then consider him for senior promotion?? Seems silly to not even have a go...Just wandered into this thread and saw people dreaming of trading for Harley Bennell. That guy is trouble with a capital T. Steer clear of those types and I hope nobody picks him up if the Suns release him. As I understand he's had multiple strikes at Gold Coast so he should be let go and if he's made of the right stuff he'll go back to playing WAFL or a similar level and prove he's a reformed character worthy of drafting. Don't simply assume that keeping him in the limelight of AFL with all its perks and temptations will bring about a change, this guy needs the biggest wake up call of them all, being dropped from a list. From that point it's up to him.
Not sure he'd cost more than a first rounder. He has been pretty inconsistent for them, despite his obvious talent. Far more inconsistent than JettaPretty sure I've read some rumour (BF rumour) that Steven Motlop is a chance to be poached to WC. Averages won't show you consistency - ie. one player might get 9 touches one game, 26 the next, whilst the more consistent player gets 17 touches a match. Stats indicate the first guy averages more touches. Not sure where you get that from
Averages more possessions more marks, more goals, same tackles, same goal assists, more inside 50s and more clearances
Averages less 1%s, and 1 less inside 50pg
He was behind Jetta in only tackles last year as well
Motlop has been pretty consistent this year, as well as last year. This year Motlop has had 2 games of 15 pos or less while Jetta has had 4. Motlop has had 3 games of 25 pos or more while Jetta has had 2Averages won't show you consistency - ie. one player might get 9 touches one game, 26 the next, whilst the more consistent player gets 17 touches a match. Tbh it wasn't based on much more than the games I've watched and comments about Motlop I've read on here.
I think Motlop has a way higher ceiling, but probably so does Josh Hill.
Would be very happy to pick him up but wouldn't want to pay more than our first pick for Mots.
