Anyone else noticed Aish has a November birthday? To put it in perspective, he is 10 months younger than Luke Dunstan. It isn't a massive deal, but he is still just a teenager, there is so much development left in this kid it's not funny! Was playing in senior flags as a 15 year old, copping tags as a 17 year old in the U18 champs and is still so young in football terms after having achieved a fair bit in his debut season. For anyone still not sold and wondering how he went when he was dropped to the NEAFL, check out his stats in the second game of the season? Tom Mitchell ain't got nothin on this blokes record

A bit of a forgotten player is Daniel Capiron from the Stingrays. He has played some very good football this year, albeit as an over-ager, after a terrific under-age season two years ago (AIS squad member) and an okay year last year. He could be a good third tall in the Dempster mould and would be AFL ready to go in round one next year. If we do end up needing to use pick 63-ish due to some of the aforementioned trades, he should still be available, and being a local Stingrays player I'm sure he would be wrapped to come on board.
The Capiron family are big time Saints supporters. I think you'll find his father played reserves football for the Saints way back when, too.

We once had a Capiron on our list many years ago, any relation?

Leigh Matthews on 3aw has said he thinks Collingwood should call Freemans bluff and send him to the PSD on principle! Why is everyone with a voice in the media so anti Freeman coming to the Saints? Like Freeman is the first young gun to leave a club! It's a tad annoying
Lethal should know the PSD threat doesn't work any more, AFLPA got the list lodgements changed a few years ago to neuter that threat and we were the first ones screwed by it. Players can now delist themselves prior to the National Draft, nominate salary terms and turn down interviews and medicals. It's called getting Ballsed (Jacobsed doesn't have the same ring)

Also worth remembering who Lethal coached before he was at Brisbane...

As great as he was Leigh Matthews, he needs to give the media away

Good grief, don't tell me Ralph's done some research. From his latest article about Freeman:

Freeman’s request for a trade to St Kilda comes after they offered him a three-year deal of up to $300,000 compared to Collingwood’s modest two-season deal.
St Kilda will not offer up pick No. 5 for him and their next pick will be 24, which is likely to be pushed back to around 26 by compensation selections.

I find this situation extremely strange. Second year player that's had a taste of senior footy wanting out. He's naturally linked to the Blues given the Tigers are after Yarran. That trade seems to easy, I doubt it occurs. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we are sniffing around.
It's more to do with that fact of them seeming to drop him on a few occasions after he'd play a good game I think. Perfect example is where he was left out for Griffiths in the final. He seems frustrated

His commentary during the Saints Demons game was abysmal. All he did was lay the boots into Paddy McCartin every chance he got. That turned me right off him being in the media. Anyway I digress..

Deal 2– Screw the Pies
Out: 42, 49 main point
In: Freeman

Notes: Values Freeman at 682 points or pick 28.

Deal 3 – Carlisle Carnage
Out: 24, 2016 2nd, Saunders
In: 41, Carlisle

Notes: If our 2016 2nd is pick 24 then this deal values Carlisle at 1158 points or pick 14 + Saunders. Saunders is expendable and we need the list spot. If Ray leaves then I'd try to keep Saunders.
LOL

None of those picks are players in the 50s.

So you think 2nd and 3rd rounders are 'shit picks'?

Freeman would be worth our 2nd if he hadn't been injured and had been playing. Since he's OOC and has been injured then he's worth our 3rd and change. Two 3rd rounders for him are more than fair.

Two second rounders are more than fair for Carlisle given the situation. Those are not two 'shit picks'. Would you prefer to give up pick 5 for him and get their 2nd rounder back? Keep in mind 2nd rounders are 'shit picks'.

If you'd bothered to think about any of this for more than the time it took you to copy and paste my trade ideas then you'd also realise that the points value of those picks still has meaning even if the club isn't an academy club. The Pies or the Dons could trade those 'shit picks' to one of the academy clubs for a higher pick if they wanted.

Don't they feel threatened when a supposed "weaker" club, outsmarts one of the supposed "power" clubs.
i knew a lot of non saints or collingwood fans who chose to support the pies in that grand final. they didnt like st kilda for some reason, thought they were a threat to the proper order of things or something like that. probably one of the reasons i dont know these people anymore

Yep I noticed that also. I reckon it's because smaller clubs don't want us to succeed before they do and the bigger clubs want us to be irrelevant. Anyway apologies Mods. Back to T & D :p

42 and 49 are more often than not are shit picks . Just because they add up to pick 28 in points doesn't make them a second rounder

To play Devils advocate our 2010 Gameplan was awful for the neutral to watch. Collingwood would certainly still bottom 4 or 5 from an entertaining point of view, but some of the redeeming aspects of our 2009 gameplan went out the window when Roo went down in '10, then stayed away even when he was back.
