But its not realistic its good in theory but clubs wont go for it unless they need the points for academy players
What. They'll do it because they have no other choice and it's ultimately what the player is worth. Those picks have value whether you understand that or not.

The academy stuff has nothing to do with it. The only way it relates is if the clubs getting multiple lower picks can on-trade those to an academy club for a higher pick at a points loss.

Collingwood are not going to accept 2 picks in the 40s because they equal pick 28. Then try to swap those picks for a better pick.what does the points value mean to a club that doesn't have academy or fs player in the upcoming draft

They'll accept it because that is what Freeman is worth. The same as any club accepts low picks for players that are OOC and injury prone.

I'm not sure you understand what the point system actually represents.

The Age also saying now that he has nominated the Saints and that "Connors is likely to look to deal with the Saints" despite interest from North Melbourne.

A bit late from Norf. It's been obvious for about five years that their midfield is too one-paced, so what did they do? Bring in Dalla. They're still too slow and their window is closing. Despite stumbling into another prelim, they're just not good enough. Our recruiting team, on the other hand, has been very strategic about addressing our weaknesses.

You must live under a large rock cause it's been pretty big news. :p

Talia leaked game sensitive info to his brother at the Crows before their elimination finals game the other week.
Might have been a bit careless. Chinese whispers and all.

Could just be an opportunity to get a tall defender cheap (who's learning a hard lesson).

I dont think you understand the draft. The point system only matters when you have to use multiple picks for academy and father son prospects. Otherwise its pointless

Not sure you just 'stumble' into prelim's these days?

Just had a squiz on the Pies Freeman thread.
Some are quite venemous towards the kid for leaving and others just disappointed to lose a top10 2013 pick.
Others towards the Saints cos of references on this board to Ball and zero return.

Have to say if we on this board have a problem with toxic sharing thoughts and adding to discussion then we will really be living in a cocoon.

They got pretty lucky with their opponent last week - the Swans were on their knees. And I guess I am biased against a team that doesn't actually finish top four at the end of the home and away. I think they'll get absolutely cleaned up this week because I just think they're not within a bull's roar of the best teams.

Gotta love the double standards, they're lambasting him for walking out on the club and throwing all kinds of mud at him, but we should still fork over a first round pick for him. Oh, and that'll be more than they part with for that very nice young man Treloar that they're recruiting.

Been a loyal soldier thru some crap years. Not cool bro.
Some soldiers must be sacrificed if we are to win the war.

Not looking to get rid of FR, but JT is an upgrade, and FR will not bring us much benefit long term. Got a lot of seniors who'll be leaving soonish, he's the easiest to cover.

Nothing personal but I'd trade him if he had value.

Trawling through the cesspit that is the Collingwood board, rumour on there that their VFL coach Dale Tapping is coming to us, possibly as a line coach. They seem a bit pissy about it, so good appointment if true. :thumbsu:
Intriguing. I wonder if that means one of our line coaches is leaving.

@AFLFootyShow: Liam Pickering, Michael Talia's mnger: 'He's left the coach calls & he hasn't heard back. He's not going to be there (Dogs) next year.'
Good player but now damaged goods. I wouldn't be surprised if the Dogs are trying to squeeze him out to play with their salary cap.

Ripping bloke Tapps! Very similar in personality to Luke Beveridge.
