I've got no probs with Joff calling out a sensitive Filth supporter

Stuff the lot of them
Anybody who went to Victoria Park in the 70's & 80's will never forgive their supporters, for the crap we copped year after year.
As a kid & a Saints supporter it was often quite hairy, would be luvky to be 2,500 Saints amongst the 35000 squeezed in.
A poster called two planks on the draft & trade board claims to personally know Carlisle just said

"If Carlton don't raise offer to 5 years he will then re asses his options.

If only Saints and Bulldogs offer the 5 years and the money is similar he would pick dogs.

I have no confirmation of length or terms of dogs offer."
It's a win-win either way for Carlisle, with the two options in front of him.
Taking a stab in the dark, I see the Doggies offering $2.5 - $2.8m over 5 years.
We're allegedly offering around $700k over 5 years, which is a minimum shortfall of $700-$800k over the same journey.
Finals footy the next 5 years, or be patient & play an integral part in a sustained finals push from 2017/18 onwards & financially better off.
His relationship with Richo will carry some weight, after losing "trust" in his previous coach.
Ditto for Bevo also, one of the nicest guys in the caper.

Hmm, trying not to be offended here.

Still go for him, if he still lacks love for the club after the first or second years, sell him on for considerable profit.

All the Carlisle stuff is hearsay. The Trade period doesn't officially start for another couple of weeks and then goes on for ages. Plenty of time for the truth to emerge. As I said a few pages back, if he comes, he comes. If not, there will be other targets over the next 2,3 years.

Talia cant kick. Roo broke his shoulder diving for a mark.
He had already broke the shoulder earlier but was running on Adrenalin (the freak) Matthews knew we were a threat that year and told his players to put the body in at every point if we were any other club it would have been a bloody travesty and black mark on the game ugly as shit and eddy the joke just kept saying how great the Lions were. Riewoldt was a dead eye before that injury.
As I said before Leigh Matthews is scum

I posted a few weeks back that Carlisle wanted to get to the Bulldogs.

That was true

It wouldn't surprise me if talia is getting moved on strategy wise to make room for Carlisle.
I wouldn't mind the saints going after Talia personally. Get him for 1/3rd of the price we're offering Carlisle and probably still get to take pick 5 to the draft for a mid.

Win win

Just maybe in an ideal world, we could replace Dempster & Fisher in 2017 with the trading of Carlisle & Talia this year.

It's disappointing if Talia has burnt his club, but pushing that aside for a moment.
Interested to see if Picker's has any substance, to back up his claim Talia has been cleared.

Heading into 2016 just turned 23, & with 30 games under his belt, Talia would normally be an ideal trade in normal circumstances.

Interesting results when you line up Talia against Sean Dempster.

Talia 194cm Dempster 191cm
92kgs 87kgs

2015: 14 games 21 games
16.6 D's 17.7 D's
5 Marks 7 marks
1.2 tackles 1.7 tackles

We know Talia is athletic, agile etc..

There's a valid case to look at Talia on stats alone, but character could now be his downfall.

Talia had a mini purple patch in rd.'s 3 & 4 against the Hawks & Crows.
Averaged 25 disposals @ 76% DE, 10 x marks, 4 x R50, 3 x I50 & 105 points on Champion Data in that fortnight.

Between rd.'s 18 - 22 against Ess, Mel, Port, WC he averaged over 20 disposals @ 84% DE, 7 marks, mid 80's ave Champion Data.

With KD's Goddard & Carlisle 1 & 2, ideally Talia can play as the 3rd tall/intercept/rebound defender

B: Talia/Dempster, Goddard, Geary,
HB: Roberton, Carlisle/Fisher Savage,
C: Webster, Armo, McKenzie,
HF: Riewoldt,, Bruce, Billings,
F: Lonie, McCartin, Montagna
R: Longer, Weller, Steven,

Int: from Hickey, Dunstan, Gilbert, Membrey, Ross, Acres, Minchington, Sinclair,
Freeman, (pick 5), Pierce,Templeton, Murdoch, Delaney, Holmes,

He was a dirty scum player so Im not surprised by this at all.

*edit, talking about dirty scum, the Freeman thread on the Collingwood board has not let up one bit on the kid. Reprehensible human beings posting in that thread.

I went to that thread, found the last two pages to be perfectly reasonable. Even pies posters bringing up hypocrisy of their Freeman and Treolar positions.

Sorry but didn't bother reading the rest before, maybe what you were talking about was all there.

Not every post was nice of course, but there was certainly nothing worse than what our board would be like if we were in the same situation.
Every pond has its scum.

Luey is a gun but he is as injury prone as Freeman's hammy. I would not want to pay him too much.

I haven't seen much in about 7 years to suggest Luenberger is a gun. Had a good third or fourth year but nothing much after. martin always rucks ahead of him because he actually gets the ball around the ground. Still think he will be offered enough money to unfortunately get a band one compensation pick. Hope that is wrong if we keep pick 5. If we trade it I hope they get band one. Not nice but who cares.
