Thanks mate. I think Bell and Suckling will make their way to the club. Other then that I can't really see any others coming on board at this stage. Perhaps one out of left field ala Bundy last year.

The club will probably try and get a ready made player in return for Redden and I wouldn't be surprised if they matched the free agency offer for Leuenberger and forced a trade in an attempt to net a ready made player in return perhaps Tippett from the Swans.

Might pick up a gun like Colin Garland. :thumbsu:
One thing is for sure, the club simply must recruit some experienced players at the end of this year. Losing Adcock, Leuenberger, Redden, Staker, Maguire, McGuane and Aish and potentially a couple more such as Martin, Mayes or Green from an already very inexperienced squad will be disastrous unless we add some more experience.

Maybe the bloke in your avatar could come out of retirement again.

Guys like Tippett and Motlop aren't going to be joining the Lions. We got lucky with the exceptional circumstances around Beams and Bundy. Wake up and smell the roses!

Swann mentioned Tippett on the Northern Frontier podcast the other day. Said it wasn't going to happen, media rumours, contracted for 2 more years at Sydney etc.

Personally about a month ago I thought it was possible as he was struggling a bit still at Sydney. now he looks to be a very important player to them after some tweaks to their structure.

Only way I imagine we match for Leuenberger is if Martin leaves and we want to keep him. Matching and forcing a trade might work for Adelaide re: Dangerfield who is clearly worth more than the Compo they would otherwise get but for us match Leuenberger we might end up with less via trade... best case maybe the dogs are his preferred destination and from a Compo perspective we'd only get end of first round but in a trade we get their first rounder - roughly Pick 12-15

You've gotta give credit to Port. In 2 seasons they've nailed 2 big recruits. Ryder and now Dixon. Getting Dixon after playing so poorly this year as well. The Hinkley connection obviously helped.

Can't say they've nailed it when they've struggled to fit Ryder into their system and Dixon is a similar type although obviously more FWD orientated. Westhoff, Ryder and Dixon are all pretty similar types and don't see that mix being worth the money they're pumping into it.

Nailed as in convinced 2 big name recruits to join them.
