Coming up to 2 years at the helm we still apparently haven't made inroads into any of the problems listed above. I'll be happy if we made some improvement but it just doesn't look like we have. What makes this even worse is that the AFL have just been drip feeding us help without really fully investing. Hopefully after a predicted second exodus they will start to notice that we desperately need help.
For some of the off-field issues we have, I dare say year 1 was a bit of an observational year by Leppa and Swann. We're now seeing (in part) the result of that with the staff changes etc. It would have been foolish for them to come in and automatically make sweeping changes without taking a deep look at what was going on and what needed to change.

The guy is a winner. We need winners at our club.
There's plenty of guys who are winners at our club. Leigh, Swan, Leppa all winners in one facet or another. Now whether bobmber brings something they don't to the table, quite possibly. I guess the other q is whether the public media bomber is the same as coach bomber. If he is then I''m not sure I would be clamouring for him to come on board. SOme of the comments he made about coaching the bombers in relation to meetings etc left me wondering if he'd lost the drive to coach. He might be able to delegate a lot more at a club like the dons but he'd have to have a much higher workload given our staffing shortages in the footy dept when compared with the big boys. Not sure if he'd be up for the work TBH.

Agreed. Also, during the whole Middle prior to Hird keeping his job and McKenna being sacked, I got the impression Bomber is more of a schemer than I'd be thrilled about.

Are you serious, why would Collingwood delist Seedsman? He would be worth a second-rounder

He won the Anzac Day Medal this year didn't he

Paul Seedsman be like Jack Crisp, to them. I think, will fit in really well. Would be that running wingman, we need kicking goals.

and yet funnily enough I've watched him play reserves for Collingwood most of the second half of the year and not get near it at that level.

draft in 2010 draft. debuted in 2012, has played 11, 17, 9, 12 games since his debut year, will be 24 by the start of next season, hasn't cemented a spot in the team and is the most replaceable type of player going around flanker/midfielder type. Wreaks of delisting and his selection this week (subject to team finalisation tomorrow) is a chance to put him in the shop window to hope someone trades for him.

btw. Jack Crisp is still 21 (22 this month), had just come off 6 consistently good games to finish the year 2014 where he had actually shown he was a goalkicker (Seedsman 49 games 17 goals).

Bomber is an ultimate tactician. As strange and amusing as his interviews are, he knows what he's talking about. It's funny listening to flogs like David King criticise Bomber on Fox Footy for something he's said, only for King to be eating his words the following week when Bomber has been 100% correct.

As another poster said, we don't know whether his media persona is the same as his coaching persona, but regardless - he's a proven achiever and knows what he's doing. If he wanted a job out of the spotlight (relatively speaking), Brisbane would be perfect.

Doubt it'd happen though. Wouldn't mind Worsfold, however :p

for eveyone potting Green... he is still leading our goalkicking by 4 goals despite missing 6-8 games and playing the hardest position in a team that hasn't exactly made it easy to play as a forward this year.

last year he kicked over 30 goals as a small forward another creditable achievement.

seriously sometimes I think we just need to find good footballers and not get too tied up in the rest of it.

Leuenberger, 27, and Smith, 25, appeal to the Giants as more battle-hardened sidekicks for Mumford.

It is understood that Leuenberger is their No.1 target, but the Giants face stiff competition for the restricted free agent.
This is great news for us if true, but it surprises me quite a bit. Mumford and Leuenberger seems like a rather cumbersome combination, and I thought Lobb and to a lesser extent Downie have looked quite promising.

I can't see it either. Sure, Mumford misses time every year but Leuenberger would be even more blatantly a backup there because he wouldn't be able to match the physical presence that Mumford brings - a presence lacking amongst their mids.

I don't know how much credibility it really has given simple mistakes on contract status, Hampton still being under contract:

The Brisbane Lions are believed to have entered the race for out-of-contract Giants youngsters Nathan Wilson and Curtly Hampton.
