Why are you doubtful about this rumour? Seems to make sense on a couple of levels.
There's a lot of rumours that seem to make sense, but in the end they are little more than unsourced rumours.

What makes this different? Is it because Brown is in the media? By the way I'm not condemning Whitecross coming to Brisbane. I'm asking how seriously should we take this.

I thought by your tone that you had info to the contrary.

I don't take any rumour too seriously but, equally, speculating about possible trade targets is pretty much standard at this time of year. I get frustrated with hypotheticals that will never, ever happen but I think when a possible trade seems feasible and then it gets a run in the media, then it is worth assuming, for the purposes of discussion, that it might be true.

Having said that, I definitely think that everyone has their own tolerance level when it comes to trade discussions.

Whitecross will be a great addition to the club. Sounds possible considering we can pick him up for free or very cheaply. Although won't surprise if Gold were interested, after Eade stating them wanting mature players.

So Suckling, Bell and Whitecross as the gettable players that seem they could come to the club.

If Aish nominates the Hawks what sort of deal could we do and does it include Suckling and Whitecross?

Is Aish for their first, Suckling and Whitecross asking too much? Maybe we chuck in our third and get their third back?

Whitecross is too injury prone I seriously hope we aren't after him plus I don't think we honestly need more midfielders we need to look at Key position players Bell would be the only midfielder I would be after to replace Redden

He can play of half back, midfield and half forword. He's more of a utility. End of the day he's going to cost us nothing. He can certainly play a role or be a depth player. Averaged 22 disposals in a full season (2012), before he did his knee in late 2013.

Anderson is on level terms at the moment, although would have more potential to improve being younger and no major injury issues etc
Still inconsistent for a younger player in his third year, but the round 16 game in the VFL, where he got 27 touches, while kicking 6 goals shows he does have talent. Reckon Hawks would be keen to hold onto him with couple of their senior players will be 33 next season.

I guess us picking him up will be largely dependant on him willing to go to the PSD or if hawthorn delisted him. We're most likely not going to be willing to grab him as a free agent. Should he be willing to do that then I'd be OK with signing him.

We need more midfield depth and we need more mature bodies around the ground. Whitecross is a mature body who can play halfback, half forward and midifeld. He has had a few big injuries but is back playing good footy for the Hawks ressies side this year.

Brisbane fans expecting Leuenburger to become a Swan and be the reason for the trade in wage was appealed and increased to 450k?

Always thought Leuenburger was going to arrive as a top 5 ruck. Martin left him in limbo.

Is Leuenburger in good nick physically these days?

We threw him into a modified training structure for the off-season too reduce load on his body so he doesnt break down in the season. It worked fairly well, apart from his minor knee issue before the end of the year. He was dropped a few times due to Martin being the far better Ruck for us.

We're expecting him to leave, unsure where he will end up though. Martin has been a revelation this year for us, unfortunately for Leuy, he is best suited as the number 1 ruckman which Martin is for mine. In regards to his physical condition, he had a minor knee complaint near the end of this year but I believe he has reduced his propensity for injuries. As an aside, getting away from the drop in pitch at the Gabba will do him wonders.

I rather target players from other clubs with our lower picks, instead of paying premium for Tom Bell. It's likely that Bell will cost us our current pick 21.
I would rather keep pick 21 and trade our 3rd to 5th round picks/use PSD/FA on out of contract players like Suckling, Cam Ellis-Yollmen, Whitecross, Adam Oxley, Zac Smith and Paul Seedsman.

There are one or two players from every club that have proven they can become high level players, but been obstructed by factors that deny them the opportunity to do so (e.g. injuries, lack of games, not seeing eye to eye with coach, off-field issues etc).

In order to become successful as a club we must target these types of players. Sydney are so successful is because they build majority of their list through excellent trading and recruiting. They kept their first round picks and targeted players with lower trade value, but high rewards.

Couple of examples over the last 3 seasons:
2014
*Jeff Garlett and pick 83 from Carlton to Melbourne for picks 61 and 79
*Pick 21 from Brisbane to Geelong for Allen Christensen
*Shane Biggs and pick 39 to Western Bulldogs from Sydney for pick 37

*Taylor Hunt (FA)
*Mitch Robinson (FA)

2013:
*Matthew White (FA)
*GWS Giants exchange Josh Bruce to St Kilda for Pick 48
*Sydney Swans exchange Andrejs Everitt and pick 39 to Carlton for pick 32
*Jeremy Laidler (FA)

Others:
*Melbourne exchanged Stefan Martin to Brisbane Lions for picks 53 and 73
*Essendon's Angus Monfries traded to Port Adelaide in return for draft pick No.48

Pretty sure both Gabba & SCG are traditional rather than drop in pitches. A drop in pitch would only go in after the footy season finishes. SCG may not get as sun baked as the Gabba though, so might not be as harsh on the joints. Has Leuey has any recurring injury problems or just a string of injuries (that still might all be related in a flow on effect).?

I think he has just had a string of injuries that have flown on. Mainly leg injuries such as knee complaints and an achilles injury as well.

Nupe, Brisbane is traditional, the SCG and Olympic stadium both drop in pitches.
