Yeah that is my thought. Surely he could have done better. If playing for a finals chance then fair enough but Bombers will be at the bottom I would thinkm
You'd think getting a bit more than that wouldn't have been too hard with more than one club interested.

"We might be the first club to match an offer, because pick 39 doesn't help us at all."

Already gave the heads up to Essendon last night that we looking at matching if it wasn't sufficient. Essendon were "pretty good about it".

"We have until Thursday to decide whether to match but our current inclination is that we will."

Whats the odds that the AFLPA's next step will be to abolish restricted FA and just go full FA given the tightening of the criteria now. Surely more clubs will be looking to match now.

The AFL will get their pound of flesh this time if that happens. 4 year rookie contracts or 3 year rookie contracts with a conditional fourth year team option.
