No, it's lying. It's really deceptive and exactly why we have to have unions, because managers like that **** their staff over.
I think the club probably took a more honest approach, or more to the point, Leuey could see with his own eyes that he'd been overtaken as #1 ruck.
He knows he can't fill a spot as forward/ruck and knows that he can get that job elsewhere.
I'm guessing you're "running staff" at a Macdonalds or similar where your poor exploited staff are more gullible and defensless than grown ups. Shame on you.
No it's not lying, how is it lying? Telling a player they are still a major part of the team, how is that telling lies. It's putting a decent spin on a situation, good managers, good business people can do that without lying.

Not bad for us if correct. Couldn't see Carlton taking that deal though. You never know though
should be noted before anyone becomes concerned about academy kids that pick 21 is worth 878 points. Picks 39 and 42 together are worth 841 points, only a marginal deficit. Particularly as the Jansen Walker deal involves future 3rd round pick, not this year I believe

No he wouldn't. Still, you ignore the fact that Leuey didn't want to "wait around for his chance". He has his chance, straight away, guaranteed at Essendon.
Leuy didn't want to wait around because he knew he wasn't wanted. We didn't want him because we thought we'd get a pick in the early 20's or even better pick 3. Leuy or pick 39 which do you want??? Now Leuy and pick 3 different story.

Your arguments don't follow logical links, you seek out strawman arguments, and it's clear that you are threatened by an intellectual approach to understanding the world.

I'd have to disagree, because there is quite a lot more money in football. Also, you can sell cakes indefinitely, but you can't play football much further than your mid 30s at most, especially if you're a ruck.

Have another crack.
Doesn't matter those in business will know you can apply the same principles whether you are selling cakes, running a plumbing business or running a footy club. You may get some small variables but for the most part you can apply the same business model to most things.

If we are fantasising about options that were never possible, how about we trade Leuenberger for a time machine back to 2005 to kidnap Jonathan Brown in his prime and bring him back to the present day.

Not a cheap shot at all. I've managed staff in service stations, video stores and in the public service. Two totally different workplaces. I've never managed a footy club either, but I imagine again it's different again. How do your staff feel when the things you've been telling them about don't eventuate?

You are talking as though you know everything about everything. I freaking hate those people. The staff at the club aren't perfect, but I operate under the assumption that they know more as a whole than anyone who posts on BigFooty.
Really didn't think i was but that's your opinion and i'll respect that.

Just how stupid do you think Matt Leuenberger is?

Bravo, how does it go........ quality post......is that how its done.

Back to the pr work boys. Polish that turd.
I'm not employed in any PR capacity for the Lions.

Unless they're involved in some intricate conspiracy, none of the other people you're railing against in this thread are either.

You're pissed off about a number of things .......................I think we all get that.

But attacking your fellow supporters for not being as irrationally bombastic as you are is .........well..............irrational.

Take a chill pill man.

Meh, knew Walker was coming here a long time ago. Had the whole season to look at his tapes and I feel we are on a winner here. The next Tex Walker.
So in summary so far: (if everything goes to plan)

In: Josh Walker, Jarrad Jansen, David Astbury, Tom Bell, Ryan Bastinac, Josh Schache, Ben Keays, Eric Hipwood

Out: Jack Redden, Matthew Leuenberger, James Aish, Luke McGuane, Jed Adcock, Brent Staker, Mitch Golby, Matt Maguire

Fairly happy with that.

Big bodies, midfield still looking awesome, kids a bit older and stronger.

Maybe we can hope for something better then 14th-18th next year?

I asked for 1 thing to be addressed this trade period and I would accept all else, and that is we trade in a big bodied forward. This appears as if we have done and for chump change, there is upside to walker and he can kick straight. Well done to the team for being active in quickly and responsibly satisfying this need. Now to get this aish deal done, tie up the loose ends and re-load for 2017. Would still like to see white cross added to the above too.

Is there still any smokeys we are interested in you reckon?

Also assuming astbury and basti arnt locks?

Have worked in small and medium business (doing business) dealing with big business for 25 years, and can categorically say, this is wrong. Good luck with that approach.

Leuy didn't want to wait around because he knew he wasn't wanted. We didn't want him because we thought we'd get a pick in the early 20's or even better pick 3. Leuy or pick 39 which do you want??? Now Leuy and pick 3 different story.
Rewriting history and saying it over and over, won't make it true.
It's a shame your whole outrage and criticism of the situation is based on a bizarre falsehood, but you cling to that belief.

Being angry at something that never happened isn't healthy. I can recommend a good Haso if you need one.
