We have him, and should have been played since about round 5 in place of Suckling.
Litherland
He needs continuous AFL games, and wouldn't have been half as bad as Suckers

Suckling consistently getting games, and using Frawley as a swing man really irritate me
100% agree that Litherland should be in our defence. He isn't an elite kick but his speed is a weapon.

I don't think we have any scapegoats. (Maybe hill if he doesn't turn it around)

But, the list, like all lists, needs new blood

If we're going to prune our list and encourage growth (as we should), then we should prune players that aren't vital, and that we have replacements for.

Ie, halfback flankers.

Birchall, like smith, have no replacement on our list. Litherland cannot play the same role. He is more a Stratton replacement who has gotten scared of hard work and providing an option for his team mates.

2016 as I'd like to see it
Doc , Chips , Gibbo
Birch , Carlisle , Gus

Depth... Spang , Brand , Kiwi, Miles , Howe , ... two KPP , two utility size and one small .
I would suggest Birchal re-invents himself as a tall mid as his defensive ability is second worst to Suckling.
For mine it would be;
Doc, Frawley, Stratton
Anderson, Brand/Heatherly, Gibbo.
I can see some real value in going after GWS utilities Hampton and Wilson.

Exactly.
People wanting to trade Birchall?

Birch is our glue in the backline and one of the best rebounders who's ever played. He links the backline together, and provides run and long kicking to the forward line.
He's proved himself in 3 Grand Finals.

You may want to find another scapegoat.
Your posts are so predictable lol.. Birch ain't one of the best rebounding defenders ever played, he is though the least of our problems. Pretty reliable and has been a good contributior for long long time.

Couldn't agree more think we have billy singed up but I really think Jed is a worry now
I'd be shattered if we stuffed that one up.. Jedi has his best mates at the club and I would think next year, along with JOR and Howe will be locks in our 22.

I quite like Langers, Howe, Shiels, Jedi and JOR as a midfield. All quite different. Two already in our best 22. So...

JEDI - Hodge
Howe - Burgers
JOR - Sammy

I'm a little worried about how our defence is structuring up. Don't feel confident on the rebound anymore. Not sure what that's about.

Heh, and you're predictable in the way you call my posts predictable! ;)

If you think otherwise, look at Birch's games in Grand Finals, tiger man, he's always among the best players.
I judge him on that.

Yuck. The guy is a whinging little bitch with no heart whatsoever. Would rather see Kurt get games.

Ling just said Hawks are definitely after a mid, are up to their eyeballs in Danger, but have turned to Bennell
He believes Hawks think Danger will be too hard to get as Crows will definitely match any offer
Just his "educated" guess as he puts it

The Danger bit is interesting... what did he say about Geelong? I mean, the dominant narrative out there, not that I believe it, is that he's already at Geelong.

We're a strangely reactionary bunch here...
..so true..one loss in a qualifying final..and we're rebuilding...that's why we got a double chance..it was always going to be supremely difficult to win at the cauldron...
..last time I checked teams that lost their qualifying game have gone on to win the flag?
