Would the Hawks be interested in drafting Mitch Brown from Williamstown as a rookie or in the 3rd or 4th round. He looked was ok against Collingwood on the weekend. He had shoulder issues when at Geelong, but when after he was delisted he had pins removed and has not had problems since.

He took a number of very good pack/contested marks

If it was up to me, the answer would be yes.
He was a talented junior, a first-round draft selection, who seems to have his body right now. He held his own as a top-up player for Essendon in the NAB Cup.
Considering the talent on offer in this draft, I would be very happy to see the Hawks give hm a go. However, it is not up to me!

ultimately its about getting those players to nominate us as their club of destination and then its weather we have the cap space to accommodate them .
bennell may come under market value , but o'meara or shiel will cost at least 2 first rounders

Hogan will be at Hawthorn ........Hogan "Hulk" wore yellow speedos, Hogan the Melbourne variety also has brown hair. Hogan's first and last letter in his surname starts with a H and ends with N. Hawthorn also starts with a H and ends with an N.
Am I reading too much into this ? Personally I think the stars are aligning. :straining:

This reasoning actually has more credibility than some of the stuff I have read on BigFooty...
So I am inclined to accept this as fact until proven otherwise! :D

I'm just going to put it out there that the sub rule is being axed for next season (for a strict interchange limit), maybe some of the endurance runners e.g. Hill, Smith, Hartung, etc... will suddenly make a comeback compared to the currently dominating burst players.

Perhaps we should keep the afore mentioned players on the list...

Was going to post this but refrained just in case I was to be shot down... But yeah on Brown he is certainly AFL standard, good mature body and great defensively and also has a great mark to go forward. Pendles brother played on him who is more of a Birchall type half backer so hard to judge if he'd be that damaging as a forward at AFL level. Would be a very good defender though and id assume there would be 17 other clubs pretty keen on him.

I tell you what, after watching the Tigers yesterday, if they aren't throwing cash at Bennell then they should just shut themselves down. Yesterday showed how much they need a bloke of Bennell's class.

Interested to see where go with trades etc.

Agree. Some of the calls to trade Hill may have neglected to take this into account. Hill/Smith/Hartung all to rotate through bench position 4 (formerly the subs seat). Will be very handy especially if one of the three is down or being beaten.

There are no other teams
I think we need to consider cashing in on Birchall. He hasn't had a great year and defensively is becoming a liability.

Still has currency.
This is one of the reasons I love reading some of the stuff on here after a loss.

I'm with you(and said the same thing 12 months ago).

He struggles with the basic skill of hand balling and is becoming even more ordinary above his head.

We also have Litherland itching for a spot.

If GWS came knocking with two picks as they did for Breust, then we'd be absolutely stupid not to look at it.

Come at me.

I'd rather trade Stratton and Gibbo. But that is just me.

Pardon the intrusion - but I'm interested to see if there is a long term plan/future with Jed Anderson or whether he may be available for trade? More curious as I watched him and his brother as juniors in Darwin years ago and know how good both are and noticed Jed didn't get much game time. Did he have some family issues mid season and took leave for a little while or was it injury related.

Jed had a number of minor issues with his body that he dealt with this year which didn't allow him to get a great deal of consistency.

Can't see him going anywhere.

So Shiel re-signs with GWS for two years while agreeing to join Hawthorn in two years time ?

Makes sense
Thinking out loud...

Strong were the whispers until the AFL met with his parents.

"Listen mom & dad, get him to sign up for 2 more years up here so we don't look like a bunch of losers, & we'll pave the way for him to come back after that contract"

Not so silly?
