Back on Aish .... so Brissy wants to play hardball with him, or is it more than a little bit of payback and torment for the Pies over how Beams was handled last year? If the negotiation sour with the Pies (and it will if Baulme keeps opening his fat trap), the other likely destination would be the Blues. If the Hawks could pipe up with a not so insulting offer so the Lions don't lose everything, and well, Aish doesn't have to suffer that particular fate of going to the Visy bin. Still a chance?
Maybe offer our first-round this year. Add in 2nd-round for next year if needed. By the sounds of it a pick around the 20 mark won't get a lot this year but might be OK next year. Maybe dangle a player - Suckling, Anderson perhaps to sweeten the deal.

Aish is a gun and will be a very good player. His first year the thing I loved was his decision-making. One of those guys who gets the ball and seems to have more time than everyone else and usually picks the right option. He just needs to work on getting more of the ball at AFL level.

I'm OK if we lose Anderson and Suckling. I'd like to hang on to WhiteX one more year and see what he can do off a full preseason. These days if you have an interrupted preseason you are no chance of having a good year and it's usually not until 2nd year post-ACL that you are capable of playing at your best. I'd hope he can slot in as a half-back and eventually replace Silk in 2017.

Hey guys, sorry to pop in once again, I mean no harm.

I'm honestly shocked that Anderson wants a trade due to getting opportunities? Would have thought he'd be in your first 18 if fully fit with a pre-season. Could this move possibly be family related? Anyway, I've seen enough of Anderson to feel that he's going to be a genuine gun, seems like he has freakish capabilities and a blistering turn of speed, not to mention his hard at it approach to the football.

Heard he was the second best player to come out of NT in the last decade after Cyril Rioli.

The thing with Jed is that he was playing football in the VFL that warranted an AFL game. Especially when there was such poor form from some of the best 22 players. I would probably ask the same thing if I was Jed.

He played a number of games that were of afl standard, yes. He still missed games through injury and suffered some inconsistent form earlier in the year which saw him lose his spot in the senior team. He played 4 senior games, remember.

The only person at box hill with a genuine right to whinge- and he doesn't - about form not being rewarded is Simpkin. If you want a poster boy for consistency- there it is. Jed got more opportunities than him without half the runs on the board.

He is ungrateful for pursuing this path. I hope he changes his mind. I also hope we simple dont trade him and maybe working through his frustrations and earning something week in week out will benefit him in the long run.

The attacking on Jed is laughable. You lot are more precious than what you're making Jed out to be.
I am not attacking Jed. It is ungrateful to seek a trade given what lengths the club has gone to to provide him with an ability to set up his family, pressure free, and to try and get his body right. It doesn't mean he is a bad person or incapable of feeling or learning or anything like that. But good people make bad choices and mistakes all the time, that's life. No one is perfect.

Jed might not see this in as serious a light as posters are making out- but that is the inherent problem. If he doesn't see the issue exploring this creates or the ramifications of such a choice- then not only is it ungrateful, it is naive at best. An impetuous choice from a head strong young man who has the world at his feet but is choosing to bite the hand that feeds him. If he thinks this will make life easier or provide opportunity without having to deal with the issues that have kept him from senior football- then he is wrong.

Cool, so Jed actually holds the beep-test record, is a gut-running player willing to sacrifice his game for that of the team & listens to coaches when told how to improve his game?

IMO he's better than Suckers, but unless he's a HBF with Suckling's skills/attributes, being 'better' is kinda irrelevant, don't you think?

Disappointed Anderson is looking elsewhere. The chance for more AFL game time is well within his means. Has all the talent to be an elite mid in the comp and he's shown those glimpses multiple times. Up to him to string it all together consistently.

By the sounds of that article we only seem happy to do the trade if it heavily favours us. As it should given he's an amazing talent and is under contract still.

I think he'll get his chances next year if he can get a clear run at it with his body. Hopefully he can be convinced to give it until the end of 2016.

Can't blame him for leaving. Based on senior selections this year he was behind Howe, Langford and Hartung, all who missed the GF. O'Rouke is a top pick who will be in the mix shortly. No mids/forwards retiring. He wasn't going to be part of our finals campaign next year - it's in his interests to move on. That said, sad he is gone. Gun of the future.

We should have played him instead of Hill during the year. Possible Howe/Langford as well.
