Lyon doesn't want him in the midfield because he turns it over too much correct?

I wouldn't be against getting Barlow, would allow Ziebell to spend a considerable amount of time forward more.

He can kick a goal too when he drifts forward.
And we could of got him for nothing.......Nope, dont look back look forward.

Oh yeah did everyone hear Derek Hine on SEN saying that North had a sit down meeting with Treloar during the year, which means we missed out again to Collingwood, the media must be scaring our guys off claiming that were too old.

man Treloar would have been a fantastic get for is.
The outside perception of our club, to the media or mates I talk to is that North will fall hard down the ladder after next season, so I guess it's natural younger player may choose a club that could be on the rise.

Now I don't believe we will fall too hard, if at all, but that talk about our ageing stars and next year being our last chance at our premiership does seem to scare away potential young stars. Let's be honest we know North have chased a host of players and landed only 1.

Thats a good deal for CFC..........Menzel isnt the same ilk as his brother. And Kerridge has grown as a footballer this year. and they get a top 30 pick .
Menzel has X factor and so much upside compared to Kerridge.

Definitely not that bad he's in the best 25 of a Prelim final team and 100+ gamer..

I meant it for players that want to leave generally..
I can cop us moving on players like McIntosh who are in their twilight and on the fringe, or players like Greenwood where we had our opportunity to keep them (in retrospect we shouldn't and glad we didn't match the coin) however we will never pick up anyone of note in a win/win scenario if we are letting go of players under contract like Bastinac for less than a player we handed over (and no issue we did either) a first round pick for.

Will wait for Trade Period to end before slamming the club, and will back them in - but that sends the wrong message IMO to the playing group and list managers from other clubs that we are open to getting unders a majority of the time.

Bastinac is worth persisting with and unless a reasonable deal comes along, should work hard in the off season on his deficiencies to become a regular again.

Just listening to Howe on Trade Radio and he confirms the general perspective people have of our club right now. He said he chose the Pies because they were younger and up and coming compared to the Roos.

We have some interesting choices to make on the main 22 next year balancing the age.

This is why Anderson and (hopefully) Aish are so important. It blows away the stink of being too old and we can start to sell the next gen to prospective recruits.

Good clubs accept unders for midfielders that can't crack their 22 all the time Hallahan and Anderson from Hawks, Newton from Port Adelaide, Michie from Freo, Jansen this year from the Cats etc. The only real difference between guys like that or Bastinac is that they've been playing behind better midfields and haven't had as many games pumped into them.
